Right on. I really can't imagine they won't. The package they've come up with is a true competitor to the BMW GS, probably the only true competitor. Talk about an untapped market!Drummerboy said:Dear Yamaha: Please bring this bike to the USA - we need competitors for BMW and Suzuki, the the Tenere looks like a hands-down winner that I'd like to sign up for if & when given the chance. My local dealer knew nothing of the bike, unfortunately.
A lot of talk from people around me that if the SuperTen comes here, they will unload their GS's for it.Venture said:Right on. I really can't imagine they won't. Hey Mingo, welcome to the site.mingo said:A lot of talk from people around me that if the SuperTen comes here, they will unload their GS's for it.
I did and am waiting. I thought of buying an FJR, but in the end, I just couldn't go back to a fully faired dedicated ST bike.. I like the flexibility of the big D-S bike, it's a touring bike when you need it to be and when the road turns rough or unpaved, the bike has the suspension and the tires to deal with it. So, I'm hoping and waiting to see it here next year. Rumor has it that Yamaha Canada will announce its decision to import it come Sept. 2010.
If Suzuki can sell boatloads of Stroms and they are not in the same league as this bike, and BMW best seller is the GS, despite its tarnished reputation for reliability, surely Yamaha can make a go of this bike in this market.
$11,999 is a seriously great price for a brand new model. I was a bit worried about US pricing at first but where they have priced it is fantastic. It's a lot of machine for that kind of cash, especially when compared to the R1200GS.doctorj said:It is available and with discounts from the $13900 list. I am the 2nd in line at D & H Cycle at Cullman, AL at $11,999 ;D. I don't need another bike, but who can pass up a "blue light special" like that? :
