Anyone affected by the MCE collapse?

Looks like MCE UK is offering new policies, but I’m not sure I can trust them now.

Fortunately for me I fell foul of these shisters back in the naughties, at which point they wanted more moeny off me to cancel a policy to which they got told to Foxtrot Oscar, and I vowed never to use them again. Seems for once I was spot on. I thought the policy was still supplied by the underwriters rather than the brokers?

YES THIS IS WHAT I,VE HAD
INTention to Disclaim your Insurance Policy

Your policy of insurance is underwritten (or is provided to you) by the Company, which is in Administration. The Company’s permission to write insurance was suspended on 5 November 2021.

Due to the financial position of the Company, the Joint Administrators intention is to disclaim all motor bike and scooter insurance policies as at 24:00hrs (being midnight) on Monday, 31 January 2022.

This means that when your policy of insurance is disclaimed, your insurance policy will cease or, in other words, end.

This means that you will need to seek and put in place alternative insurances prior to your policy being disclaimed on 31 January 2022.

Up until your policy is disclaimed, and on the basis that you are fully complying with the terms and conditions of your policy of insurance, your policy will remain valid. No adjustments will be permitted to your policy from today except for administrative adjustments which do not affect the risk associated with the policy of insurance – such as correction to the spelling of a name for example.

WHY?

Green Realisation 123 (who used to be called MCE Insurance Company Ltd) is no longer able to offer Bike insurance due to going into administration.

We understand this situation will leave you in a difficult position and without insurance.

MCE UK is NOT in administration and is able to offer you a new policy.

What now?

MCE UK can offer you a new policy underwritten by UK based Sabre Insurance.

Click the button below to get a quick 5-minute online quote for your new policy starting on the 1st of February 2022.

To be honest Rob i think they knew they were in trouble but kept issuing policies hoping to get out of it. I didn't really get hurt as the deal was cheap. As I didnt see me using the bike much i went for it.

This passed me by! I had no idea that MCE were in trouble. I am with Carole Nash and have been for years. I think they are a little more expensive but they have been fine with me. I hope you all manage to sort things out.

I’ve been getting quotes for Feb 1st ( I was also May with MCE ), My last policy was just over £100, MCN UK is within a few pounds of that, Bennett’s and Lexham are a little over double that. I’ll try Bikesure and CN during the week.

Bad show from MCE. Their UK lot won’t be getting my money, was just curious.

Me to, ever since I found out Cornmarket altered there policy wording to not covering bikes that were kept in garages when left out on your drive at any time day or night, or anywhere within a mile of the house. As I have 4 bikes on a multibike policy its quite common for me to wheel one or two out on the drive while I’m doing something in the garage. I had quite a conversation with them and they even agreed I wouldn’t be covered round my sisters house in the middle of my estate, down at Tescos or even at the local Yamaha dealers forecourt if I left the bike there for a service etc.
CN just have a night time exclusion. I tried quite a few companies at the time, and CN were the only ones that didn’t have the exclusion!!
I found out a few years ago, it’s cheaper to do a new policy every year than it is to renew with them.
