I checked the price of 3 filters (with shipping) from Rock Auto - $21.18
Found another vendor autopartskart.com and the price was $20.80
Know that this is old thread but always looking to save a little change and thought that I'd pass it along.
Try using the Smart Post option for shipping.. 3 filters shipped $20.18 RA..
Not that I care for a dollar more for shipping I always get them quick when I forget that i used the last one.
But I think they are located in Salt Lake I live in New Mexico could be reason delivery is fast?
But good option if Rock auto is out of stock, thanks..
Didn't see the NGK CPR8EB-9 plugs.

My bikes have been doing fine with Fram filters from Walmart or Menards, years ago I used the $3 Super Tech filters until Walmart quit selling them, they are now selling Super Tech filters again but changed them so the new style doesn’t work on a motorcycle.

Just saying but i stopped using Fram a long time ago, they are built poorly inside.
The first generation of Super Tech filters where actually better I used them on my Triumph 1050 along with Purolator for a short time.
My thought why should I chance a failing filter on my 14k bike over a $3.00 price difference? Did some research and decided on Mahle for it's construction, performance and price.
Whatever the debate I passed good info on to us Tenere owners, the are good filters, don't leake same size as the OEM and fit behind the skid plate.

Has anyone ever suffered a failed Fram filter and resultant damage? All I’ve ever seen are tear-open opinions. No data.

Tires, Windshields, Seats, Luggage, Oil Filters! If I can find a better built oil filter for less money... I will buy and use it.

Speaking of that... I need to change oil and filter. Thanks for the reminder.

Actually, I have had 2 failed Fram filters. The first one was on my wife's Ford Taurus and the second was on one of my trucks. Both developed leaks where the filter was crimped together. Maybe a bad run of filters? These incidents happened over 10 years ago and they were not caused by over tightening. Now, it's nothing but OEM filters for me. I can think of lots of other ways to save $2. There was no damage to either engine, just a helluva mess under the hood and on my garage floor. No data available.

Have to research that one but most likely it's no.
Never the less when a filter bypass locks open or the filter media glued to two cardboard discs falls apart that's not filtering.
This is a ridicules video but gets to the insides of a Mahle filter.. https://youtu.be/48yn3PGG-zY?t=2

Yes I have!! Back in the 90's My company had a generator with a Fram oil filter that ruptured resulting in loss of oil and blown up engine. I only use them as a last resort.

Thanks, but I was asking about motorcycles and maybe cars. Was the failed filter indicated by Fram for use with that generator in their applications guide? I guess we're all tainted by our experiences. I've had two defective Purolator filters fail on me, so will no longer use them. Both had improperly cut threads that tightened up before sufficient pressure on the seal could be achieved. First one failed on my motorcycle as soon as I started the engine. Second one let go on my wife's minivan two corners away from home. Major oil spills in both cases. The way they felt when they tightened was the same as when the gasket seats, totally fooled me.

The Fram filters have a bad rep, not one i would use anymore, their guts just look like trouble waiting to happen..
I use to use the older issue discontinued Black Walmart Super Tech filters on my Triumph they actually were built well.
We cut one open to give it a look over, no corner cutting.
The new ones besides the convex mounting plate are crap and feel like it in the hand.
In my book at this time the MAHLE OC 575 is a good choice.
My bike is hitting 90k and never have had an issue in almost five years of using this filter.

You can check the FRAM issues on this video>>>>
