the forecast for today is for a balmy 98 F. makes for a sweaty ride .... had a cold front from the west push through and now we have very dry air over us and that dry air heats up quickly .... tomorrow is mothers day and it may reach 100 ..... spring is over .... time to drag out the kayak..

They lied about that dry air. We're predicted to be 87° with 62% humidity today, and hotter tomorrow. Not much of a cold front,

this weekend is hot , no riding ..... the dog days of summer came early this year ...... central Texas is in drought and as you go west it is more severe.... on these no ride weekends I have been trying to do a few things around the yard (wife honey do list ) . we need rain . for me rain is a feast or famine thing , when it rains I don't work dry weather im crazy busy . but water is life , we need rain.
been awhile since I've seen anyone else post here ,all are welcome to share their dirt bike stuff on this thread . it makes it more interesting for all who read it... I'm pretty sure I at almost 65 have reached my greatest skill level on the dirt .... tight twisty are my favorites trails . 1st and 2nd gear kinda stuff ......no sand ... sand is evil .... so maybe like most when it gets hot I switch to water sports ( need rain for that also ) taking my kayak to the river or lake . it is good exercise .
waiting on the 'top gun maverick " movie to hit the theaters on the 27th , the trailers look great . have a great week guys and I will post something soon , it might even be interesting.

You don't need to have great skills to have fun in the dirt. Adjust your riding style to the terrain and just challenge yourself enough to make it interesting but safe. We don't heal so fast at this age. Keep mixing in with that your buddies being involved, hot dogs and adult beverages after. It all adds up.

I do not care for racing or fast dirt as much anymore. Tight slow single track in the woods with lots of elevation, creek crossings, rocks, roots and the occassional downed tree keeps things plenty interesting and challenging for me. Mix that with 4-5 days primitive camping, some hiking and lots of quality time with my son makes the package complete and memorable.

I'm not much of a primitive camper anymore, but yeah, outdoors with the kids, and grandkids. Priceless.

I will share a bit of dual sport riding from this weekend. It started with a monsoon and flooded all the creeks and it got nasty but was still fun. Had to alter my plans being i was riding alone and i had to cross this creek 4 or 5 times to get to where i was going. Had to dig the bush pig out of one mud hole and push it up an over one bank but the rest of the day was smooth sailing or riding!
