I question that remark. My tenere had not YET taken a nap in a bog!!!

Are there Bogs in SD? I have to be careful as I will have a 14 year old with me!

Putting new tires on the super tenere this Saturday . So no dirt bike this weekend. New tires for a big June trip .

put new Shinko 705's on my Tenere today .... no dirt bike weekend .... but next Saturday should be nice .

rain and more rain. to muddy to do anything . maybe next weekend . rain is coming down , some have had over 5 inches last night and its started again this afternoon.

after 8 plus inches of rain in the past few days this Saturday ride should be on perfect . just enough moisture in the soil for great traction .
when it gets dry the soil runs a bit sandy . added bonus is wife out of town for 2 weeks so no ride curfew .
Sunday is mothers day so will be at moms ( chicken and dumplings with sweet potatoes and fried okra ) cant miss that . carrot even found some new trails on his place to explore ......

going to do my first chain adjustment on the beta , never put enough time or miles on the honda to have needed to after having it for about 2 and a half years . the beta is so much easier to ride as in no flame outs when least expected , tractor torque , great suspension (thank you previous fat man owner , I'm fat myself ) I really look forward to riding now. its one of the reasons my Tenere is so low milage , no Saturday day trips as we are on the dirt bikes each free weekend. I will spend 8 hours hanging out in the woods with my buddy probably add 2 hours to the the engine total and use a gallon of fuel , we will cook something and have a great time .... maybe even get a little better at this dirt riding thing .

some of you guys are riding but not posting (this is open to all who ride dirt bikes and want to share , it makes this more interesting for all ) , lets see your bikes , what you like about them or not . where you ride , what ever you feel like sharing .

going to do my first chain adjustment on the beta

Terry make sure you do not go by the 20mm tension spec. Get a tie down and compress your suspension to the neutral position and make sure it's not tensioned tight. 5mm-10mm is about right in neutral position. Also inspect the inside of frame for chain contact. Some of the Beta's came with a super beefy Regina chain that hits the inner frame.

good advice , my friend carrot has some experience in these things , and I'm not one to over tighten . don't need to buy new seals .

went to the Beta dealer (San Marcos motorcycles in SanMarcos Texas ) had a fully street legal 480 waiting for some one .... said it should have said 500 but the stickers said 480 , figured they shipped him a euro bike or put the wrong graphics on it . so very pretty .
