Hi my name is Rich and I am in Northern California. I have been riding a GSA for the last two years, but just sold it and decided to replace it with a Tenere. I have had an 08 FJR for the last six years and want that Yamaha dependability in my adventure bike. Ride mostly 80% street and 20% dirt roads. I am enjoying reading all the posts on this site. Thanks to everyone who contributes. After reading the posts I have decided on a 14 or newer Tenere, mainly because I really got use to cruise control.

Welcome aboard. Lots of stuff around to read up on. We're going to have to get us all together for lunch some Sunday... next year.

Welcome from Texas. You're correct about sticking with the Gen 2. You might even want to stick with '17 or newer. I have a '17, and reading/listening to other on here. . . . the fueling might be a little better. Or, I just got lucky, and got a perfect Tenere. I'd also recommend an ES. Easier to adjust the suspension, and it comes with heated grips.

Welcome Rich. I always wanted an FJR but one that would work on the dirt roads around here. The ST is that bike for me. Happy hunting!
