I traded a 2008 Road Star in for my 2012 Super Tenere. Before that I had Stratoliners , Royal Stars, Ventures and a couple Fjr's too. At 6'3" the Tenere will fit you much better. As for your passenger it's really an individual preference kind of thing. My wife has been on a couple multi state rides on the Tenere but as we aged she does not ride it any more. We ride two up on a 2018 Goldwing now. You might consider keeping then Road Star as it won't bring much anyway.
Try to find one to test ride is the best I can advise .

We'll have to get out for a ride sometime, now. I especially love the back roads up in Delaware state park

We absolutely should. We have some nice routes we do and end up around the north side of Alum Creek. There’s a pretty cool road called Hogback Rd and it’s really close to Hemnicks Brewery, great pit stop place! It’s all country roads as soon as I leave my neighborhood….not like when I lived in Upper Arlington and had to ride 30min just to get out of the city.
