Trex crash bars and skid plate on mine. The skid plate does not have to be removed for an oil change. I have not had to test either one out yet but what I have read indicates that they are quality.

Figure out your intended use and make your selection based on that. I have Touratech crash bars on my '18. Chose them due to keeping the OE tip over guards plus adding some additional protection for parking lot incidents. YMMV

Yup, I do hop curbs, and I knew that I need something that would allow me to slide over/across rather than catch a bolt, or something fragile, and important. So far, I've only picked up a few minor/light scratches on the Altrider; no dents. The lower cowl on the ST1300 ended up kinda wonky, and had yellow paint streaks along the bottom.

Like the Yamaha skid plate. It has hole in the leading edge. To me, it looks like rocks, sticks, and stuff could catch on/in the holes, and cause problems.

I am quite happy with my TRex plate and bars. Very beefy. Some have had install problems with them but I didn't. Used the plate many times and the bars a couple of times and no issues. To change the filter there is a little panel you take off, I like the high coverage that it offers.
Dog is extra.

I have a 2014 ST and want to add crash bars. My first choice is alt rider. Trex is more affordable and a good value. Santa will make the decision for me.

I've ordered an ACD for my 19, in August and still waiting for it. They tell me it is coming so if you go with an ACD plate your going to need to be patient, it might take awhile.

How much protection do you need / want ? We still make a super bomb proof skid plate that is the only one with a warranty ! Altrider crash bars are very good, Iv used them for almost ten years on the same set. Ive had friends that have fallen about 500 times with there acrider crash bars and they are scratched all up but still work as intended. There are many skid plates on the market, and for "general use" a few are pretty good. Others are nothing but jewelry for an ADV bike.

Just depends on what your needs might be !

what skid plate is that and how is the rear mount done? Looks beefier than the 1/8” that most seem to use

It’s all 1/4”. We build our own 1/4” bracket.

I like rumbux. I have the full set... Front and rear crash bars and skid plate. The rear crash bars are my rack for soft bags. I'm not sure if they still make them though.

Got a site with pics and specs? Or can you point me to a thread?
No problem. Send me an email and I can send pictures. I can also dig up some past threads and send them over.

I have a Givi skid plate and Givi engine guards coming off of a 2017 S10. 40K miles on them with no crashes. I'm the original owner. I would like to go back to the OEM S10 Cowling and crankcase protectors. Anybody want to make an offer for the Givi? Anybody have the OEM parts I'm looking for? Located in SC.

I have the factory crash bars and the OEM aluminum plate available. The plate is scuffed but not (as far as I recall) dented at all. The bars are clean, no dings or dents. I also have the factory plastic "plate" as well.

If you are removing your Altrider skid plate for an oil change. You are buying the wrong filter.
