Looking for a rack for soft luggages (Giant Loop)

Hello!

I have a set of Giant Loop saddle bags but I need to rack to support them.

I will most likely get hard luggage in the future as these Giant Loop bags don't seem to work with a passenger (my wife...) so ideally a rack that works with hard luggages would be great...but I am open to any option.

Thank you!

I'm also a fan of Happy Trails racks; been using them on my bikes for about eight years now. I've had the SU racks on both my Super Tenere and my old V-Strom.

The racks are very adaptable to homemade attachment systems. I don't know if you're a DIY sort of guy, but I adapted my HT racks to work smoothly with both soft luggage and hard panniers. I had an old set of Nelson Rigg soft bags that I made some packboards for, and they're interchangeable with my Pelican style knockoffs.

The top case is an equipment case I got from a company called MCM Electronics back in (I think) 2013. It was marketed under the brand name "Duratool". MCM was bought out by Newark, and now does business as Newark Electronics. I believe this is the same case I bought way back then:

The case is a Chinese knockoff Pelican case, and I think Duratool is just a name stuck on it by the US importer. I've seen the same case under other names; Princess Auto sells the same style cases as the ones I have, but not under the Duratool name.

I did make the top case luggage rack, and also the quick release system that attaches the top case to the rack.

The soft bags came from a US retailer called Dennis Kirk. They're Nelson-Rigg CL-850 Touring Saddlebags. They're about 10 years old; I checked Nelson-Rigg's website, and they aren't listed any longer.

Happy Trails user here too. Had set on the KLR as well as the ST. I Also use both hard Happy Trails boxes and Nelson-Rigg soft bags. I have not had any issues or complaints with the racks. They have held up well on the ST for over 5 yrs of use.

It doesn't appear that Princess Auto is carrying the same size as I have on my bike. They do have what appear to be the side cases that I used: https://www.princessauto.com/en/22-in-impact-resistant-storage-case/product/PA0008486037

Here are a couple posts showing some photos of my quick release system:

At one time there was a more extensive post about the construction that was also linked to a photo album with more pictures; unfortunately during a site overhaul a few years ago the posts were lost, and all my photo albums on the site disappeared.

My quick release is designed to specifically work with my homemade top rack. If you want to see a few photos of the rack, you can see them here:

I use hard luggage & have Givi quik release racks on my Ten. Model PLR2119 with E21 side cases...but any std Monokey case will fit.

The Monokey hardware (cheeze wedge & 2 mushrooms) can be easily removed leaving just the tubular loop to mount various bags (or cases...I was looking at mounting some Jesse Odyssey II cases I have)

If quik release racks arent needed....the same hardware (cheez wedg/mshroom) is used on the bolt on version PL2119 for less $

Or the more robust bolt on racks for Outback cases PL2119CAM. All the hardware is removable on these racks too.

Might want to check out outback motortek racks. They fit well and seem to be fairly universal in size. Round tubes vs square tubing on the HT pannier racks. They worked well with Giant Loop attachment plates.
