In the middle of June I will be spending several days in the area of Erwin Tennessee . Anyone have suggestions for twisty roads or good places for lodging?

You'll be real close to a good one 232. Make a loop of Cooley Ford, Whiteoak, 232 then 79 to Dover (don't speed on 79). Fort Donelson in Dover is worth checking out. Take 79 to 46 thur Indian Mounds then ferry across the Cumberland River at Cumberland City. Farther south check out 438,128,228, 13 south to 230 then north on 48 is a good ride. West of the river I don't know much except 104 south out of Lexington is a nice ridge road. You really can't go wrong lots of good roads! Don't know about accommodations over there. Hope you have a good ride!

If you mean Erwin rather than Erin...

Make sure you get up into the highcountry - especially the Roans. Google the Beauty Spot Gap in the Unaka Mtns and go visit - good gravel roads.

The paved twisties really excel up there. Must-hits are 197-to-226-to-261 with a stopover in the highcountry meadows at Carver Gap. Hope the Rhodos are starting to bloom for you.

Just go explore, you will not be disappointed.

this shows a motel that I've stayed at a number of times. It may have changed names??
From there you can ride across town to catch the roads already indicated. Oh and you will need to take 107 to... I think it's 359 Rocky Creek Rd which turns into NC 197... Yippie it is fantastic!
And from the hotel you can ride further down Temple Hill until you come to the intersection of 19W and old Asheville Highway both are great. If you go on Old Asheville Highway turn right on TN352 which turns into NC209 .
There are lots of great roads there. But watch the Erwin city police they are strict!

Thanks for catching the typo. Stupid autocorrect combined with poor proof reading. I will edit to correct the mistake. I appreciate all the suggestions. Can't wait for the trip.

I love riding the roads from Erwin down to Del Rio. My father lives in Greeneville so I try to ride when I visit him. The roads around there are fantastic curves so tight you can see your taillights as you round them. also the back roads between Erwin & Jonesboro are very hilly and twisty. Also as said earlier ride up to the Beauty Spot. Flag Pond, Rices Creek are great areas. There are lots creeks to soak your feet in and relax.
