Locating PC8 Fuse Box in the Tool Kit Area?

I'm in the process of installing an Eastern Beaver PC8 fuse box. A lot of people mount them under the upper side panel, but it seemed to me that the area where the OEM tool kit goes might work better as it's a lot easier to access to change a fuse roadside (only need to remove the lower side panel) and it fits in there nice and neatly with the relay. It's also closer to the battery.

Does anyone have a good reason to not put it in there?

No good reason not to, that's where I put mine and relocated the tool kit under the seat. Easier to access the tools there anyway..
That's what I figured. Although it seems there's no room under my seat between the ESA electronics and the highway toll card reader I have under there. I'll find some place for it.

I've had my PC-8 down there for years. Lots of space. I have a Starcomm communications box under the seat. I've replaced my tool kit with more bits and that usually ride along in my pannier.

I had good luck mounting it in front of the batter as shown below. This allows access to both sides - positive and negative.
I also removed the Yamaha tool kit to make room for wiring and the relay switch.
I was unable to mount it opposite the regulator as some have shown, since the factory cruise relay is in that location.
