I took the Tenere to Baja California last month for a nice 2400 mile loop. On the way home I stopped into a Beta dealer in loveland CO to take a look at the Beta 500 RR-S. I've been lusting after a KTM 500 EXC or a Husky 501 when I became aware of the Beta 500. I liked what I read about the Beta and the price was great at Moto Adventures so it slipped in the trailer for the ride home.

When I got it home I was greeted to a bunch of new snow so I've not had much opportunity to ride it.

I have a Husky TE610 to go play in more dirt than I want to take the S10 into. There is a big difference between 330lbs and almost 600lbs!
Makes dirt way more fun!

Congrats looks awesome.
Here's my S10's bro..

Ya at 249lb claimed wet weight the Beta feels a little different.

You'll love it!
I've ridden a few betas, 300rr, and a 350 race. They are slightly smaller in stature than the ktm/huskys.
I'd like to try a 390 (long stroke) and 430, or 480. I'd still like to ride single track with the single, so the 500 may be a bit large.

top tip, if you do ride single track, watch the platsics, they are not as forgiving as the austrian stuff. On the flip side, they are cheaper to replace.

I have a gas gas TXT200 and a couple of CRF450X's (all road registered) to keep the Tenere company. I love the tenere for road riding and gravel roads, but the CRF's are just amazing in the dirt and so much fun!! The Gas-gas is so light and fun in really technical sections, but not road legal and too slow to use on the road!! Great for improving your technique and balance!!

You can never have enough toys!! ::008::

It's a great complement to the Tenere, I have the 500EXC and I'm absolutely enamored with it. Needs some engine tuning off the showroom floor for reliability, and of course correct springs for rider weight but after that - it only gets better.

Had a 2011 XT660Z Tenere once but found it too top heavy so got an R instead. Same engine/gearbox, heaps lighter and great fun - my ST's lil' bro...
