Light bar for mounting Clearwater lights?

I'm wondering if anyone knows of any light bars which will allow me to mount my Clearwater kristas on. I have one on my Gs which I'm going to sell, but haven't found any options for the Tenere. I know a lot of people mount the lights on the crash bars or under the headlights, but I prefer the mounting on a light bar which looks better imo, provides the triangular visibility effect and is higher for visibility than the crash bar mounting, plus I don't have any crash bars yet. Do plan on getting some.

I use this to mount Denali aux lights ... http://www.twistedthrottle.ca/denali-auxiliary-light-mounting-bracket-for-yamaha-xt1200z-super-tenere-11-14

I mounted the lights upside down to enhance the triangular effect. I suspect you should be able to mount Clearwater Kristas on the same bar.
I like that option, has anyone seen those work with Clearwater kristas? Also, with crash bars installed, will the lights be inside of the crash bars in case of a drop so they don't get damaged?

The bar is just under 18" wide and lights will be well within the crashbars. There is 5/16" elongated hole at the ends of the bar to accommodate the mounting bolt of the lights.

Okay, hopefully that works for my clearwaters, I'm going to have my local shop take them off my Gs and put them on the Tenere, hopefully that bar will work out, unless anyone else has any better suggestions?

Curious if they'll fit. I recent installed Kristas (under headlights) and a little disappointed in the light spread as there's not much illumination to the sides. Maybe that improves with the lights further apart.

Call CWL and ask for Glenn, tell him I sent you, a good friend in my local car clubs. I haven't put a set on my bike yet but we did talk once about mounting options and if you discuss it with him he has some ideas. As I recall, he told me he has a bracket of sorts for under-headlight mounting but don't quote me on that one... Also, the CWL lights do seem to cast more of a long throw beam from what I recall, but I was thinking we could get a little more flood & spread out of the beam by mounting them wider on the bike or rotated out and down slightly is what I planned to do if I ever get around to putting a set on my bike. Glenn has a few sets on his own GS.

I have the Krista's on my Tenere. I used the PIAA light mount for the Tenere which is sold separately and, of course, fits the Tenere perfectly.

Not the best pix of the lights but you get an idea... If you want another photo of something specific let me know or questions on installation or placement of wire harness etc let me know. I have mine tied to the factory accessory light connector. I have the dimmer up on the dash then have high beam tied in as well as a separate toggle switch giving me several options with the Krista's. Turn key on and Krista come on to preset of dimmer. Flip high beam on and Krista's go to full power instantly. Toggle the switch and Krista's go to full power without my high beams turning on.

Yeah I called them and the only one they have is the below headlight one, I really want a wider mounting point. The kristas are really bright and awesome!

Thanks for the photo, I like your set up but I would really like a wider mount on a light bar. I am curious to see exactly how you mounted the dimmer switch if you have a photo of that?

I don't see how mounting the lights wider would be beneficial to the rider. The PIAA bracket allows a bit of adjustment of the Krista's...left, right, up & down. From other drivers perspective I'm sure having the lights spaced out further would be/could be advantageous.

My dash....
You can see the dimmer attached on the left by the wind deflector. The switch above the dimmer is an on/off/on and controls heated seats I added to the OEM seats. 1st On position is low heat and 2nd On position is high heat. The handle bar clamp is from Highway Dirt Biker. I have the BMW style 12vdc and a On/Off/On toggle switch. 1st On position enables my garage door opener thru autoswitch.com controller. 2nd On position turns the Krista's to high output. The left LED above the toggle is part of the Autoswitch controller and the right LED is from Clearwaterlights...their Sentry monitor. The display below the OEM gauges is from RRRtools and their TPMS.

I think the Krista's may be too big for the application, but contact TABASCO (Jaxon at RideON ADV). He has mounts for the handlebars that I use on my bike.

Chuck B-

Thanks for the extra photo, like he mounting of the switches. Yeah the reason I want them mounted wider is for the triangular effect for in leased visibility.

AVGeek-

Thanks, I'll check that out.

Here’s my Erica setup with the brackets from Clearwater. I rode with a guy on a GS last summer who had them (mounted on his crashbars) and I was very impressed. I’m not so impressed with my setup though and am trying to angle the lights out (using 5 washers on inside mounting bolts) for more spread to the sides. Without adding the washers (pic below with lights on) the lights are great illuminating what’s straight in front of you which I think the stock lights on high beam do good enough, especially if you add HIDs.

I set up the lights to not be on with low beams. They turn on with the high beams and are adjustable with the dimmer mounted on the mirror.

Looks good, but I'm hoping the light bar will work out well, otherwise I'll go with crash bar mounts. Wish there was someone else out there that made a light bar for the S10

This is how I set up my Denalis. I know it's a crash bar mount but it's plenty high enough and a nice spread for lighting up the sides of the road.

That looks pretty nice, what kind of crash bars are they mounted on?

Cool, thanks for the other pics, good to know, I need to get some crash bars soon and was thinking of the altrider because everyone seems to recommend them, but givi has a much more attractive price, might have to consider them.

Just bought a set of givi crash bars. Now waiting for the crash bar mounting brackets to come this week and get the lights mounted on the bars. Can't wait to have my kristas, one of the best investments for any bike to have such awesome lighting!
