Smoking in vehicles would never get enforced around my little town. Unless you doing something seriously wrong. They will usualy let you slide Mask enforcement here is non existant and more and more people seem to be giving up. I passed on a Thanksgiving get together this year. Too many 20ish yro kids that take zero precautions. I wear one and keep my distance.

So, I wasn’t allowed to say anything until today, but it's now okay for me to share that I volunteered for the Covid-19 vaccine from Pfizer. The vaccine is the one that has been developed in Russia. It is in 6 different stages and I received my first dose at 6:20 this morning and I wanted to let you all know that it is totally safe and I’m ok, with иo side effects whatsoeveя, and that I feelshκι я чувю себя немного стрно и я думю, что вытл осные уши. чувству себя немго страо. Comrades.

Being bi-lingual isn't a bad side effect. Having vodka cravings could start at any time though.

Ha Ronzo, maybe a quick way to learn Russian.
I'm in Canada and will very likely have to wait a long time to get my vaccination.
We are in need of a new government (federal that is)

What's happening team USA? Bad day today. Surely there is more that can be done than waiting for a vaccine? I know other countries are also doing it tough but it seems worse when the US is going crazy. The media paints really bad picture. How is it really?

Well, the numbers don't lie. We had 81 coronavirus deaths yesterday in Wisconsin, 3,100 nationwide. The average had been about 55 per day. The positivity rate is over 30%. Most of the schools around here are still closed. Many hospitals are at or near capacity, some have less than 10% of their beds available. Here in the U.S. we added 1 million new cases in the last 4 days. California, Texas, Ohio and New York look like real hot spots. It's not looking good here. How are things in Australia?

We are in the biggest surge in cases since the virus first got here to the US. While it seems like most people have been complying with the mask mandates and social distancing, I have seen enough people wearing masks improperly, or using ineffective masks, which may explain part of it. There is also COVID fatigue, as well as the economic pressure to get back to work, given the government's lackluster response to the growing economic disaster (because the unemployment systems in place were not up to the volume of claims that came in when everything shut down, and at some point, every job is essential for survival).

. . . . There is also COVID fatigue, . . . .
I hate that term. Or, more accurately, I hate the mind set behind it. Fatigue for doing what's right?! That's the real issue. Like AVGeek said, not wearing the masks correctly, or not at all. I also think there's a lot of nasty ass people that don't wash their hands. Here in Texas, the hospitalization rate reached 15% for seven days. That initiated a modified shutdown. If it reverses, and goes back below 15% for seven days, the shutdown will lift again. I sound like a broken record, but, we are our own worst enemy.

A hospital in Reno Nevada has converted their parking garage into a Covid 19 ward to try and handle the surge. Our current president called it a scam and fake news. That's how bad it is.

Here in Tennessee, I see about 70/30 of people wearing masks. and stores do not enforce any policy of wearing them. Probably out of those amounts, about 5% wear a mask only covering the mouth, which makes no sense to me.

I attribute a lot of the ignorance to people that have not seen the suffering, or death, in their sphere. Must not be bad/real if they are not seeing it.

I think a fair amount of the surge is from Thanksgiving. Imagine what Christmas and New Years is going to be like. Sometimes I wonder if we are going to get herd immunity, just from attrition.

We have a stay at home order and it's not being followed by hardly anyone. Thus the surge in cases.

Where I live it's hard core enforcement. But just for some. The bars, restaurants, barbers, and salons are getting hard enforcement with fines and arrests. Protesting, riots, rapes, murders, robberies, assaults etc are being allowed.

Street takeovers are a nightly social event that is embraced by our social media community. I got woke up a few weeks ago from the burnouts. Drive around the next morning and see major intersections with a big circle of rubber.

In LA county the mayor has approved social gatherings with no limit to the amount of people as long as it falls under the guidelines of a protest. So street takeovers, torching buildings/cars, blocking streets and traffic, throwing rocks and bottles at police, etc are all within the legal rights of our good 1st amendment citizens who refuse to wear a mask.

I had to go out yesterday to get truly essential emergency supplies for our tree trimmers to remove bee hive. The traffic was horrible. Local park was packed with people. I was really scared going into the local hardware store. I was met with a full parking lot and frenzy of customers in the Christmas light and BBQ section. WTF!! Since when are Christmas lights and BBQ's essential?

The section for vector control was empty. I got in and out as fast as possible. It was a challenge to stay 6 feet from anyone. At the checkout I felt crowded and nervous.
