Sometimes, but not generally.Trouble with being a Mod, then you’re not one of the “boys” anymore.
We have a really good group here and most of us have been here so long it's become a place for friends. I've met a bunch of you through this place.
I've lived here the longest. (and married one) But, I was born in Boston, and have lived in Michigan, Arizona, and Washington St. And, that doesn't include all the different duty stations. I usually refer to myself as either a mutt, or Heinz 57.

We saw on the news a young chap armed with a machine gun telling the police he was going to protect property with it (I think he later shot two protesters) But the police did nothing at the time, they just stood chatting to him!!

The COVID protesters are crazy here in my state. If you happen upon a group of them you are not allowed to drive through. The highways are shut down so they can peacefully protest by brutally attacking you and torch anything they can throw a lit bottle of gas on. The law abiding citizen will be arrested and thrown into prison if they make any attempt to defend themselves. An older gentleman was attempting to fuel at a station and was "peacefully" assaulted. Widows smashed, spit on, etc. The police came and could do nothing but try to get them to leave. This was met with throwing bottles and more peaceful torching and chanting.

And then there are the passive aggressive:

I’m not a mask fan but that’s crazy. Those who are supposed to enforce our laws are confused. We have the right to peaceful assembly to protest. Rioting is an unlawful activity. Governors and mayor’s and county judges are sworn to uphold the constitution and enforce our laws . Rioting is not protected speech, it insurrection . If you don’t wear a mask I’m okay with that, if you wear a mask I’m okay with that. I’m not okay with being attacked by either side. I will defend myself. What we need is real bad weather, rain or snow or something to get them off the streets.

You are probably referring to the 17 year old who travelled from Illinois to Kenosha Wisconsin with an AR15. A 17 year old can not legally purchase a firearm in either state. I'm not sure if a 17 year old can even legally posses a firearm except for hunting or target practice at a range. He is fighting extradition to Wisconsin on 2 counts of intentional homicide, possession of a deadly weapon by a person under the age of 18 and numerous other charges.
Without involving opinions. . . . at least one of the persons that he is being charged of killing. . . . also possessed a firearm. I don't know the pertinent state laws involved, but I do know that this is going to turn into a shit show. We are going to have to hope that the Grand Jury that has jurisdiction, will have all of the information. . . . and make the correct decision.
Can someone tell me, this spring there were hardly any cases. I couldn’t get a haircut, get a meal, had to stand in line to enter a home improvement store and while traveling on my bike was looked at like some sort of leper.
Fast forward to now, there are cases everywhere, hospital icu is nearly full, yet traffic is as crazy as it’s ever been, and now the election is over, corona isn’t hardly even mentioned by the “media”. WTF?

Really? It is all over the media here. It only fell to #2 story during the final days leading up to the election. Now reporting on increasing cases, hospitals reaching capacity, vaccine effectiveness and distribution, new administration plans to control, etc. etc. Rivals media coverage of any date in pandemic thus far.

There were "hardly any cases" in the spring because of the lack of testing. Cases are now through the roof due to a lot more testing. There are still a lot of folks carrying and spreading the virus unknowingly.
The reason it is not mentioned as much anymore is because the media is slanted to the left wing and a socialist president has been elected. If a republican right wing conservative would have been elected then the media would have been plastering COVID panic and continue blaming the current president for its upswing.
The best bet is to continue to listen to medical experts and your doctors who are experts in the field. As well as using common sense. My mother just had triple bypass surgery a few weeks back and the ICU is business as usual.
The medical experts and good old common sense show that traveling for pleasure, eating in restaurants, haircuts, and unnecessary shopping, is not smart at all and puts everyone at risk. Unfortunately the general public is going to do what they wish and this virus is not going to go away anytime soon.
I get sick every time I read some blog, look at a picture, or watch a video of no social distancing. Just take a look at the BLM land, National Parks, Forestry Service and camp sites around our country. Yosemite, Yellowstone, and Glacier Park have been bumper to bumper and packed to the gills the last few months.
Has anyone priced or went to an RV lot lately? The lots are almost empty and RV/camper builds are almost a year out waiting time. Only the crappy RV's are left on the lots and they are getting huge markups on them. I was recently looking at a 4 Wheel Hawk to put on my truck. Brand new in 2018 with all the options was available for under 16,000 bucks. Right now there are none available except used. 2004 used Hawk and the guy wants 16,000.00 for it. It is a sellers market right now.

All that is on our local fake media is the ineffectiveness of the vaccine, opening up the borders, and allowing more flights in and out of our country in order to curb the spread of COVID.
