Hey VRODE, those pegs are slick man! I love the way they hug the crash bar when retracted. Where can I find a set?
Regards,
Rick James
edit for spelling, DUH!

Found them on eBay.

My pegs arrived today so got them fitted. Made some reducer packings to get them to clamp to 25mm tubing. They clamp up very solidly! As I have yet to test ride and adjust them they are tight, but once the position is finalised I will loctite the screws in place.

How did you make the reducers to fit around the crash bar to fit the pegs? Looks good!

Thanks! I'm happy with them. The packings are made from a piece of aluminium tubing 1.1/4" OD x 10 SWG. Or in metric 31.75 OD x 3.25 wall thickness. I just chopped it up on my band saw.

Just an update on my installation mentioned above, after a brief test I've decided I need to mount the pegs on the lower tube on my Heed crash bars. This presents a problem as the lower tube loop on these bars is a smaller diameter than the rest of the tubing. It measures up a 22mm, meaning I need to make new reducing sleeves. I've ordered the new size of tubing and will report back on if this new position is better.

With regards to the quality of the footpegs themselves I would no trouble recommending them. They are well constructed and well finished. The price was acceptable too, in my opinion.

I just mounted a set of the T-Rex highway bars to my bike. I thought long and hard and decided it was a good choice. These days my legs get a little cramped around the 150 mile mark. I normally just do some stretches and squats while riding. The deciding factor was this unified braking system. I'm finding I'm using it more and more to control the bike with stopping. I still use my back brake a whole bunch at slow speed directional changes. So with the stopping/panic braking safety stuff handled by my right hand and the wonderful computer it's a no brainer.

Here is the mounting. The pegs dip down just a bit. I will be throwing a small piece of rubber in between the stop to get them level. As another member stated, make sure to remove the rubber sleeves and glue to prevent peg from slipping on crash bars.

I had some time today and took the rubber sleeves out to stop them from slowing rotating down. I then took your idea and used that rubber to keep the peg from angling down. I cut one of the rubber sleeves in half and then used a piece of Gorilla double sided tape to hold the rubber piece in place between the peg and the stop. So far so good!

I'm still trying to find out a way to mount pegs with aftermarket parts. So far I have the t rex pegs and mounts from a 1994 bmw r1100 pegs. So another post might be due if I find a way.

Well, no joy on the original location of the pegs. I really wanted to like them. I relocated them using the supplied shorter arms. Now they are in a position that's very comfortable for my feet to rest. Highway pegs are just that. Great for long straight stretches that you are on cruise control and no traffic or distractions that require rider input.

There are some big disadvantages to these. The handling of the bike is destroyed. Braking, cornering, or any type of evasive maneuvers are next to impossible when your legs are rested on the pegs. I tested braking distance, trail braking in corners, and various directional changes. Well over 50% diminished rider control at any given speed. It's something that I'm surprised not one person has spoken about when getting them. It is a 100% difference in how the bike handles. Using only your arms to counter-steer is the oddest thing ever. Forget about slow speed drills. Not going to happen with feet rested on the pegs.

Even with those negative traits they are a game changer for easing cramped legs. Just a few inches of adjustment makes all the difference for comfort. As long as I don't have to turn or brake aggressively then it's all good.

New placement:

I tried a couple of different options, but it is not easy with the Givi Crash Bars. The T-Rex seem to be the best option in this case.

Mounting it this way prevents slowly turning

I just changed the mounting point of my highway pegs on my Hepco Becker skid plate and now they make for the most comfortable riding position ever on a bike. I don’t like them too high or too far forward because it puts too much pressure on the lower back (and I don’t want to feel like I am going to the gynecologist).
I can put my feet on top of them or just lean against them to stretch my legs without touching the road (36” inseam).
