Installed a set of Touratech heel guards. Nice looking guards, however the sharp edge on the left guard is chewing up my left Aerostitch combat lite.

Considered beveling the sharp edge but that would remove the anodizing and expose bare metal. Decisions, decisions.

Nothing worse than a heel guard gone rogue ... turning on the very thing it was supposed to protect. If you read the "eating" as an adjective instead of a verb - the topic sounds like a very bad movie. Sorry ... I had to share. You should contact Touratech. It could be a major design flaw. Thanks for the warning. R

One of the reasons I went with the AltRider offerings here.

Maybe I'm missing something, but I'm not entirely sure what's wrong with the stock ones? Unless bling is the thing...?

I changed them out as I was getting my left leg caught on the guard. Guard got stuck in between my boot and pant. Also, AltRider guard places some coverage over the rubber joint boot. Changed the right at the same time.

It seems a lot of riders keep wearing their little boy pants that are inches too short instead of getting pants that are long enough to not show off their black socks. ::025::

As a person who was teased about too-short pants practically every day as a teenager, I have a tip for these riders: Buy tall boots, and tuck your pants into them. Not only does it conceal the fact that your pants are too short, and hide your geeky socks, it will also keep your pantlegs from getting caught on the bike. :)

And don't fret over the teasing. You may have been teased about flood pants, but you grew up to flat foot the Super Ténéré. Which would you rather have?

Huh?

Having a rainy day Bunky. Go ahead and start the Super Tenere and listen to the song. Pop the WABDR disk in the DVD and enjoy 2 hours. Call me and I will bend your ear with things I need to do to my Super Tenere. June is just around the corner.
