So far so good other that I noticed the Coleman canister does not fit the stand.
The rim is just a hair to thick and if you force it for sure it will snap the stand.

Mine showed up the other day. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I'll do a comparison to my son's jetboil. It looks decent. I think the jet boil is probably a bit better made, but not enough better for the price. I think I'll do a side by side comparison of parts and boiling times.

I did a side by side comparison today of my old Coleman Peak1 Apex, MSR Whisperlight Internationale, JetBoil Flash and the Knock Off.

I still like my Peak1 Apex for the ease of starting and adjustability. Boil time is longer.

The MSR is just a pain in the ass. Hard to start. It does boil slightly faster than the Coleman, but takes longer to get going because of the way the generator needs to be primed, where the Coleman dies not.

The JetBoil wins, but at a price. Built we'll, lights right up, boils fast, is compact, light and built well... but it's only good to boil.

The Knock off is larger than the JetBoil. It boils about as fast as the JetBoil. It's not built as well. But it's a 1/3 the price of the JetBoil.

For boiling, get the Knock Off. For cooking, I like my Antique Peak1 Apex (these haven't been made for 20 year though).

The Apex is a good stove I modified it to run on White gas, Isobutane and propane.. Did away with the old Coleman pump that was falling apart.
Running it on propane is like a forge blast furnace, it burned my heat exchanger off one of my pots.
This is one I am building, used the Chines BRS stove and the bottom of a stainless steel erinking bottle. It now has three legs that act as the pot stand.
But It looks Hobo looking , it's compact stand and legs fold in and sounds like a jet, it to runs off all three fuels.

Even simmer..

I ordered two of them. Took one out and boiled a full pot. It went fast enough for my needs, and should work out just fine. I wish it would hold the 8oz fuel can, but whatever. I'll just grab a 4oz one. I might swap this out for my whisperlite since it has the pan holder with it. I think for the price, it can't be beat.

The 8oz will fit.. Start bottom up stand at the bottom..

Then put your fuel Canister onto the location the pot locks onto, the MSR or Primus fits well I am not buying Coleman unless it's the only thing I can get...

Line up the orange legs of the stove so it fits in the open space around the stand at the bottom of the pot, and slip it in..

Now your extra stove base turn it over and it will slip between the container and canister..

Note I removed the canister valve cap it's the only way the lid will lock down..

I'm surprised at what you think of the MSR as I've had a Whisperlight for years and it's always performed like a champ on any fuel I've fed it.

Compared to the others, it's a pain in the ass to light. the Jet-Boil and the Knock-Off are instant on and the Coleman has a self priming generator (take a few seconds to heat up and get going, but light it once and go). Priming the MSR is what I dislike.

I'm on an 8 day canoeing expedition on the Boundary Waters in Atikokan with the Boy Scouts at Norther Tier at the end of this month, and we're stuck with Whisperlites because that's what they supply. I'm glad the boys will be doing all the cooking so I don't have to deal with it. I'll let my son practice with mine the week before we leave so he's the "expert" with it.

If your having issues priming the WL and you have enough being used at once to justify bringing one of these to prime them faster..
Just hold it to the vaporizer tube for 30 seconds and slowly turn on the pump valve..
Work good starting camp fires as well..

Another thing I have done is I wired tied a piece of welders carbon felt to the primer cup a little squirt with alcohol fire it up, flame starts going out turn the pump valve on stove fires away. Amazing with all the PC going on they still let scouts use white fuel items these days? :-\

Used mine everyday on a two week trip up north. Worked great! Only issue was when I let the piezoelectric starter rotate out of the propane stream.

A+!

+1

Just finished a week on the road. It was great.

The unit is ideal for use with a 230g fuel. The 100g size that fits inside most Jetboils doesn't store well inside this.

Yup, max weight is only 275lbs. That's 50lb under my weight. :)) Could get ugly.
Sierra1 I understand what you mean. What is really ugly is watching this fat guy trying get up off the ground. I know a lot of the Beemer riders swear by the Kermit chair. They even make a wide model and it is made specifically for moto-touring.
