With only 13,000 miles maybe I should be taking it apart to check to make sure everything with the rear suspension is properly lubed.I've noticed that too, but it's usually when I have it in gear, while putting it up on the center stand.
Poor phrasing on my part: the issue is the bike was too upright, risking (which happened) a right-side tip over. The Soupy's sidestand allows adjustable length, allowing sufficient left lean.Too much lean and you bought a Soupys shorter stand? For cbennett it's a perfect solution though.
I set the preload to two-up and it leans a little better (more). I have felt exactly as you did - a bit afraid often of the bike falling over to the right. Totally new sensation for me; never even thought about that with previous bikes.I've experienced this issue. I have a 2016 ES and I've found that if the suspension is set too soft then yeah it will stand pretty straight, I'm almost afraid to get off it in case it does fall to the right. Stiffening up the suspension or making the rear end taller makes the bike lean over to the left a lot more. I also put a larger foot on the kick stand which makes things balance a little differently
I have one and had a larger foot welded on it... Solved the crappy kickstand problem.Soupy's sidestand looks like a nice piece of work. But it looks like it would sink into anything slightly loose or wet with that little foot. Maybe that was necessary to have it fit properly at different lengths when up.
Picture? -- my tentative solution to soft surface is carrying a Fatfoot, but like the welded foot.I have one and had a larger foot welded on it... Solved the crappy kickstand problem.
Pic? To be honest it won't win any beauty contests.... Lets get together sometime and you can eyeball it (if you won't make fun of my workmanship...)Picture? -- my tentative solution to soft surface is carrying a Fatfoot, but like the welded foot.
I should also have mentioned that the adjustable kick stand is a bit under strength for the porky S10. I've had to reinforce it which is why I say it might not win any beauty contests...Picture? -- my tentative solution to soft surface is carrying a Fatfoot, but like the welded foot.
That would be much cheaper. My adjustable stand is a work in progress, and has performed much better than the stock stand. I don't have to be so selective in where I park now.Actually, I am interested in using your welded foot solution on the standard aluminum stand, or the steel 1st gen!
