Well, I finally got around to installing it! Seems pretty decent for the price, may take a fine file and clean up the threads a bit, couple of tight spots screwing it in and out, otherwise it seems fairly well built! Could just be the paint is a touch too thick in spots too.
Didn't happen if there isn't a picture!

Finally got mine from the Lone Star place listed above..... Took em over a week to put it in the mail....

Just swapped it on. Bouncing from my bikes without locking caps makes the setup on the 10 annoying. Just me, I know alot of you guys dig the stock setup.

No issues and so far a clean setup.

Does the cap come completely off and out of the way? I find the OEM cap is in the way when I’m trying to maneuver the bulky vapor recovery equipped nozzle into the space between the GPS and the open cap.

The venting is built in to the tank. All you have to do is swap the cap assembly and you should be fine. There are short bolts on the top of the OEM cap that only hold the cap assembly together and long bolts that go into the tank. There is also a bolt inside that holds the assembly to the tank and can only be accessed with the cap open.

You will find it an easy swap.

thanks eric,

so that breather tube attached to the new filler isn,t needed

rob
No. There is a grommet under the cap. Here is a pic of the underside of the OEM cap assembly. You can see the three thru bolt holes and the two short bolts still in place, along with the cross piece that has the bolt hole that is accessed when the cap is open, with the orange grommet that goes over the vent line hole in the tank. There is another hole in the tank for the over flow drain line. They are side by side and can be seen in the fuel tank diagram.

Fuel Tank Diagram

Edit - If I understand the write up on the cap you linked to, it is designed to vent in a similar manner to the OEM. The OEM has a tiny check valve with a spring and ball for venting pressure. Only occurs when the tank gets hot and vapors expand enough to over ride the springs pressure on the ball. The "extra pipe" might just be a spare part, rather than an old school hose to vent like dirt bike caps used to have.

That's the same link as before and I'm not seeing any shots of the underside. Looks like a nice piece of kit though.

Ah, I see that pic now. Hmmm. W/o having it all in hand it's hard to say what will work best. The vent hole in the tank will be under the assembly surface, so it may vent fine w/o the pipe. Or it might need some better seal/route like the OEM grommet. You might even be able to put a small hose,(pipe), into the tank hole, then insert that into the included hose. Sort of directing it to the tank's vent hole with the combo.

The hose barb does appear to come out on the side of the assembly where the tank's vent and overflow holes are. That should make it a short run. Very do-able with a little bit of fuss.

The Vortex does. Screws in and out like a old school cap
