I just installed thiws and not sure I have it adjusted correctly. Seems I keep engaging the lock when I don't want to. If I loosen it up to the point it doesn't do this I have to make almost a full turn before it begins to snug up and hold the throttle. If I adjust it so I can activate it as it says in the instructions it tends to activate itself. Any tips?

thanks

I also had one of those Kaoko throttle lock things, used it for a couple of days then sold it and got a $10 one that slips over the outside of the grip, in my opinion the $10 one works better. But after 50,000 miles I got so tired of not having a real cruise control I finally traded the 2013 for a 2018 ES with actual built in cruise control and love it. Yes it was an expensive trade !

Mine takes about a full turn to engage. When I'm ready to set it I turn it enough to just engage the friction (usually with my pinky finger), then close the throttle and turn both the throttle grip and lock together and it sets it. Still wish I had real cruise control, especially in hilly terrain, but it's nice to use when I need to take my right hand off the bars for a little bit.

Thanks, That sounds like mine is working correctly then. I'd love a proper CC on the S10 like I have on the Goldwing but not going to drop the coin on a new bike or aftermarket unit. This will do the trick to give the wrist a break and it works better than the cheaper models I have tried.

When I think I need to use mine I do this same thing. Honestly though I use mine very little. Mostly to change gloves, zip jacket vents or sit on my hand when riding in the very cold. Most of the time I keep mine cranked out firmly to prevent accidental engagement.

Once nice feature I use often though is partial engagement of Kaoko while super slabbing it on the interstate. Tenere throttle is pretty strong so by partially cranking down the Kaoko you can greatly reduce effort needed to hold throttle in position. Your right hand will thank you.
