I traded my 2014 fjr with 42k miles in on a used 2014 tenere with 12.5k miles today. The comfort is a lot better on the tenere. Things missed on the fjr, heated grips, electric adjustable windscreen and the immediate torque and acceleration of that fabulous i4. Things gained, comfort and off road ability which was my main reason for trading. Naw to service it tomorrow...

Congratulations on the Tenere, hopefully it works out great for you !
took a FJR for a test ride the first year they supposedly came with cruise control, couldn’t get the cruise to work and the salesman didn’t have a clue, after riding it I didn't really care for it much anyway so I lost interest In buying one.

Congratulations!! I agree with missing the electric windshield. But, I think the ST1300 had the best OE windshield of the three bikes I had with them. And, the FJR motor IS intoxicating, but the Tenere isn't a slouch either.

Congrats and safe riding - they are both really great bikes in their own different ways.

A total shame that Yamaha did not/cannnot make them Euro 5 compliant. Anyway new laws will prohibit the sales of any petrol or diesel vehicles from 2030 here. That's just 10 years more.

While it is true the fjr will work to pull your arms from their sockets, don't let the deceptive torque and acceleration of the S10 fool you. You may not realize you are flying low but a deputy will... don't ask how I learned.

Get the ECU flashed and it will pull way harder than your FJR did in the lower RPMs. My FJR-riding buddy was amazed when he tried mine.
The OEM heated grips work great.
