Jesse Luggage Systems & XplorerMoto were fortunate to secure a Yamaha Super Tenere for a couple of days to get the mounts mocked up. Finishing the mock up this far in advance means Odyssey II & Safari luggage systems will be in inventory before the bikes start arriving in May/June. Both the Odyssey II & Safari bags will ride on the unique, adjustable Odyssey II mounts. Here are a few specs: Odyssey II system capacity boasts 105 liters vs 64 liters (stock bags), but are no wider than the stock overall width of 35.5”. The 9” Safari’s offer a generous 90 liters, at 33.5” width. Our largest bag, the 11” Safari, provides 112 liters at 38” in width. Contact XplorerMoto (www.xplorermoto.com) for more info, and to reserve your place on our pre-order list. In Canada contact Dual Sport Plus (www.dualsportplus.com), in Europe contact Two Wheel Trekkers (www.twowheeltrekkers.co.uk), in Japan contact Infantry (www.infantry.jp), & in Australia contact MTD (www.mtdtours.com). Many thanks go to the fine folks at Yamaha Sportscenter, in Longview, TX for their hospitality during our stay. Here’s a sneak peek at the progress to date. Double click on pics to enlarge.

I like the way they fit close to the bike. Another good option but my luggage choice is already made.

Re: 11" Jesse bags

Bill would you mind sharing the cost of the total set up bags, mounts etc. I'm looking at alternatives to the OEM side boxes right now I'm looking at $923.36 for evreything.

Just got off the phone with XplorerMoto great group there, very nice and took a lot of time to answer my questions and talk bikes. I may be rethinking the whole OEM side case idea.

Still happy with my Micatech decision but I certainly would have liked the option of a symmetrical left bag with an exhaust cutout.

This is kind of embarrassing but I actually don't know what the final price will be. I am expecting it will be between $1,000 - $1,200.00

Maybe a little more or less.

With mounts, that is not bad considering the way they have integrated them around the exhaust for maximum size and yet minimum overall width.

The handrails are gone... Wondering how you lift the bike up on the centre stand

The tops are also the same height as the pillion seat. I was considering running without the seat and using the low rack position to creat a storage platform but that would put the top cases above that platform.

I also wonder if there was somone on the pillion seat compressing it if their thighs would hit the tops of the cases.

Really nice and tidy setup otherwise, maybe the best I have looked at Nice comprimise between uber industrial and designer swoopy. ;)

Wow this is huge I didn't even notice that plus as mentioned already the pax seat is really close to the tops of the lids also a concern. When I see the bike in April I will know better how the OEM's work and look and if they will suit my needs.

I would expect that the price will be closer to 1400.00. They have a great reputation, but are a bit too specific who they give priority to. A few years ago, anything but BMW was on the long wait list. That's what happen to me , and tainted me for a very long time. I don't like it when a mfg removes vital pieces from the bike. I think the hand rails are a great feature. Is it worth saving a few inches in width?

Uh oh....hadn't noticed the loss of grab rails. That could be an issue. May have to re-think this... :-[

No real place to put any sort of a grab handle on the L.

Might get by with some kind of grip on the forward aspect of the L bag.

Loss of tie down points for the back is also a biggie.....

Agree totally Clem. The grab rails are "must have" for several reasons: to lift the bike on to the center stand, for my better-half to hang on to and to use for straps when carrying bags on the saddle.

I haven't looked at their site, but if that is the case (removal of grab rails), they really need to make that very clear in their advertising. Otherwise, they are likely to have a lot of panniers returned to them. That would be bad business sense IF that is the case and they don't point that out. That requires a decision on the part of the buyer. R

I am in no hurry for a set of bags. I do not want the factory ones, and was thinking about the Jesse's. Glad to see somebody else is being the guinea pig. Yeah, lack of handrail and backseat height don't seem to favor me liking these.
