I just got my Jesse 10" Odyssey II's mounted without the grab rails mounted.

The bags are 36" across the back. Will measure the front after dinner, but they appear a bit wider in the front, probably the 36 3/4" that Twisties reported. The bags are plumb however.

I did no cutting of anything on the bike. I am within a 1/16" or so of the front tie-down. The left rack slightly touches the OEM muffler cover at the very end of the cover. This will be remedied when I jettison the stock muffler and shroud. I am going with a Leo Vince Carbon Fiber can which does not radiate as much heat. If needed I will put some heat shielding on the bag.

I ended up using a combo of Jesse and other spacers. I'll report back with exactly what I used.

I do not see these bags getting any tighter without cutting bits off the bike, and I might do what Sallydog did with trimming the underside of the front tie down to clear the front Jesse mount. This will probably gain me around 1/2" to 1" total. I'll only do this when I replace the stock muffler.

Odyssey II bags mounted. They are plumb, but are slightly splayed out in the front. Across the front they are 36.5" wide, across the back is 36". These are mounted without the passenger grab rails, and without cutting anything on the bike. There is slight contact between the left-side Jesse mount and the very rear edge of the muffler guard.

I have a Altrider rack that does not touch the bags, but the right side is close, about 1/4" clearance. The left mount has about 3/8" clearance from the Altrider rack. In order to suck the mounts in any farther I will have to cut the bottom off the forward passenger rack tie-down, replace the muffler and loose the muffler shield (plan on a carbon fiber LeoVince - which according to Jaxon runs much cooler than the stainless/titanium/aluminum cans). I will also have to do something to prevent the 'wings' on the Altrider rack from hitting the bags...either raise the rack a bit (use longer spacers), or bend the 'wings' a bit more or trim them.

I ended up using following for spacing out the Jesse mounts (note the the Jesse spacers are very, very variable in actual width, so the math does not work out like you think it should):

Left Front: 1" Jesse Spacer + 3/8" Jesse Spacer + additional 1/4" spacer and one .060" washer - total width is 1.650"

Left Rear: 1" Jesse Spacer + 3/8" Jesse Spacer + additional 1/2" spacer - total width is 1.830"

Right Front: 1" Jesse Spacer + 3/8" Jesse Spacer + additional 1/4" spacer - total width is 1.575"

Right Rear: 1" Jesse Spacer + 3/8" Jesse Spacer + additional 1/4" spacer - total width is 1.570"

I bought (4) 10mm x 75mm fine pitch (1.25) bolts for the above.

The left Jesse mount is resting on the outside of the footpeg mount, and I used no spacer. I had to buy a 8mm x 30mm oval head bolt for this.

The right Jesse mount has a 3/8" Jesse Spacer between the Jesse mount and the Jesse bracket that is installed between the frame and the footpeg. I used the Jesse supplied 8mm x 50mm bolt for this.

I suspect there is some variability in the actual Jesse mounts as well, so some will mount closer than others.

I am pleased with these, but I don't think there is enough variability to reach the 35" width Jesse has listed on their website. At least not with my bike and my mounts. I thin I could gain around 3/8" on the left & right side mount by cutting the front tie-down and replacing the muffler and eliminate the front splay. Don't know if I can get down to 35".

The bags are build like a brick s***-house. Very nice.

Just wondering if anyone has pics of the Odyssey II's installed with the grab rails still on. Just a "visual' of how wide they actually look that way.

That's the usual reason folks wind up with a top box, LARGE opening. I use a cable through the chin bar. Exposed to the weather, yes, but she ain't going anywhere.

Well, sad to say people in my country and neighbor are attracted to physical product.. When it's in sight, it's very attractive to itchy hands..
One of my riding bud just got his helmet snatched days ago at a petrol station..

Plus the weather here is rain rain and more rain!!
Would anyone confirm if it's a go for a XD3? I'm outta choices for a good saddlebags..

H&B xplorer are out as they are not strong and had manufacture defects, water seepage and cracking plastics..
The juniors looked weird on S10, I would like to have a metal squarish set..

Like I said, I think the top box is the only way to stash a helmet. Though, you might check with the specs on the side opening brand out there, the Micatech. I don't like the looks of the Micatech, but they sure do open wide.
