Just installed a JC Whitney Top Case last night. Couldn't resist for $39 and change delivered in two days!
Mounting plate is pretty cheesy, but I was able to drill it and fit to the bike after removing the stock plastic rack and mounting it directly to the bike using the hardware that attaches the stock plate.
My question is: has anyone attached one of these case to a Givi rack? The mounting system and latch are a replica of the system that was on my VStrom Kappa bags, that I believe we're actually made by Givi. Can't beat the case for the price, but it could use a more robust mounting plate. Thought I would explore this option before trying to fabricate something myself using Givi parts.
