I made a recent purchase of a used skid plate, from Ride on ADV. Well I need some up close photos and/or directions on how to mount her up. I will likely have to purchase some hardware too. So Jax or any user, can you pop a few picts and post them up?

TIA

Hey buddy,

Happy New Year....

It needs seven new/washers bolts. First install the lower bracket, you need a longer bolt on that lower right side and a 1/2" spacer. On the other side the kick stand bracket goes to the out side of our mount..... Then slide the skid plate up and around the Altrider crash bars and install the four bolts. They will be about 3/16 - 1/2" longer than the normal Altrider bolts. The pop in two .25/20's in the bottom and your good... Ready to rock ! Add washers to everything.... Feel free to email me if you have any other questions... I don't check the forum everyday....

got the side stand bolts out, what a PITA.

There does not look like much clearance to the oil filter, is this normal?

OK I know this is a old thread. After looking at the pics of all these skid plates, This Rideon one looks bombproof!! Thank you for thinking outside the box and really offering fantastic protection for these machines. This is case that you get what you pay for.

I'm still a lurker here. Still saving like a madman to get my Super Tenere!!

Yep. I love mine and it is bulletproof. It has a few dings and gouges on the bottom that make me happy that I have a skid plate that attaches to the frame and not the engine. I think mine was the first one that Jaxon built for stock pipes. I lost a little ground clearance but did not have to swap out the exhaust.
