There must have been some quite good rider skills involved also, you don't hit something big enough and solid enough to do all that damage without really throwing the motorcycle about, amazed that he managed to stay upright and in pouring rain.. A very lucky man, but obviously with a good bit of riding skill!! ::008:: I am also surprised that the engine did not immediately seize, the minute he lost the oil filter, the engine will have lost all oil pressure, so to be able to recover, pull of the freeway and get to a hotel with no oil pressure really speaks volumes for the engine!!

Holy crap!! He is lucky that the "object" impacted the bike and not his appendages. Also amazed that there was no internal engine damage after bleeding out going down the road.
