ISO plastic cover under headlight

New to the group. Just picked up a 12 with 50k miles. It's missing the little plastic piece under the headlight. I can't seem to find one. Anyone have an extra laying around?

Most people remove this piece and run a led bar or spots in that area. If you add lights you won’t need this piece

I did notice and I might down the road. But for now I think id like the piece

From what I've read elsewhere, the Tenere didn't get this piece until 2014. the <2013 models came without this part

There's definitely holes where something would screw in but I'm not 100 percent positive

This is correct. I did order and install one on my 2013, was only $7. A nice little addition to fill the gap. I also added a light bar later but mounted it to my engine bar wrap around hoop.

If all else fails, pick your favorite local dealer or OE parts house and buy a new one. Lone Star Yamaha is one source.

It's not missing, the Gen I bikes did not have that filler piece. I believe it's P/N 2BS-28365-00-00 It's under the windshield section of the parts fische for Gen II bikes. (2014-on)

My 2013 never had that piece but the holes were there, I guess Yamaha didn’t get around to installing them at the factory until 2014. I think that cover might block some water from getting in, if you want to install one on your bike the parts are available from Yamaha.

EricV and SilverBullet got it right. The part never came on the Gen1 bike but can be delivered new to your house cheap. Part #53 for $6.09:
