I try to find the cheapest....and then try even harder to not have to use it. By the way....comp is cheap....comp covers EVERYTHING except if YOU hit something. Collision takes care of that. Collision is the lion share of your premium. That's why I don't get it. Mice/rats ate the main wiring harness of my then, 6 month old Jeep; $50 deductible, and the insurance company covered the remainder of the $1800.00 bill. Check with your companies; the premium difference between a $50 comp deductible, and a $500 comp deductible is usually very small.

Did progressive give you a reason. I would check your credit score. Could be a sign something is amiss. They base rates on score as well as driving history. This is done as a coralation. Where do you draw the line? Whats next race, sex, religion. I think if you pay your premium in full credit should have no bearing. Base it on driving record.

Big bunch of BS. Probably want DNA results for determining premiums next. Nothing but scammers.

I will never ever use State Farm again. They hung me out to dry on a collision in which my wife was the first of four vehicles hit by an underinsured driver, who by the way had a suspended license. I figure it cost me about $20K by the time it was all said and done for something that was 100% not our fault.

When I checked Foremost, after giving the obligatory info., they redirected me to go through the same process with several other companies. More of a broker than an actual carrier.

AvGeek, I had a similar experience. This guy was with State Farm. He literally just got his car on a temp tag. Had a epileptic Seizure and hit 8 cars on my street. Totaled my Explorer. He had exceeded his coverage. I had a advantage. A company car and my Harley. I waited the bastards out. They had to settle, think it was internal pressure or law? To close the case. The others got pennys on the dollar because they had to settle. They needed a car to get to work.
