This would be worth dropping the coin to have it dyno tested. There used to be a local bike shop that had a dyno, but he closed a while ago. Not sure if the $$$ of dyno put him out of business or all the local business rules our county has.

Only just picked up on this mod after being a fairly new S10 owner, some mention how the front wheel lifts on the the throttle post mod, does this mean that the TC is also disabled with this mod in place?

What sorts of miles have been recorded on bikes with this mod permanently in place, has there been any side effects other than a permanent massive smile on yer faces? :)

Think someone claimed to have had 32k under the belt with this mod in place. Seems there's lots of others using it and have been over a good period of time. Whilst I'm not the right guy to advise on such matters, side effects wise, one things been posted, that the timing could possibly go a bit whack if certain parameters are met. Having run this mod over the weekend I'm happy to run it full stop, but maybe with a switch, certainly till I pull the trigger on the ECU flash to coax even more goodness from my bike... The mods certainly worth doing even just briefly to get an idea of what the flash can bring to the Tenere party n before any big dosh is laid out on said flash.

Been using this mod for two years now. I have it swtiched . I only use it when I want a quick get away or very spirited riding. I've not noticed any difference in fuel consumption.

close to 29000 miles no issue run it all the time, but I am going to reinstall a switch the first switch gave up the ghost a few months ago.
I like to dampen things down on smaller tighter trails in T mode, I may turn it off on the interstate runs as well.
One day I will get the flash done. Who is doing low budget re flash at this time?

Yep, more than 31K miles with the clutch switch with no issue. Only turn it off and go down to T when its wet, rainy or potential ice. Clutch switch is on 99% of the time on my bike.

To all you guys who have done decent miles and time with this mod, do you hold back any when gassing it, such as red lining the motor/ full throttle or both? Just a couple of older comments that make me slighty weary to do so. I do like a good rag!! ;)

I find myself near red line on occasion. I try not to go over and am usually successful staying below. I don't think I've ever made it to WOT on the bike, so that part has never been a concern. I define my riding style as spirited. ;D

I have punched it a few times close to red line but I stay out of that zone .
WOT a few times just to see how fast the Tenere dose, mainly after my valve adjustment, new CCT and clutch basket.

It can get up and go may I add.. ::008::

Thanks for that chaps... Might not do the flash till the spring so I know temptation to rag it now n again till then, will be strong! :D Got time to decided wether to do the ride in ride out £350 ECunleashed service or the Flash Tune mail in service by Velox racing for just £150..? Seems an obvious decision to save a good wedge of cash n go with the Flash tune. Tried, but can't find/see anything to say they differ much or if at all?

A little bump for this with a question.

How do you make up a switch for this mod ? As I have just had a fuse in.
Source wire > Fuse > Switch > rest of Wire i.e. toss in a switch at any point in the circuit. Unless your switch has a light in which case you'll need to make sure the light is rated 20amps.

Edit: I misunderstood how this mod worked. Disregard the above.

Having the switch on the handlebar is the most convenient - this is one commonly used:

You have to reconnect the clutch connector to the clutch switch and then splice into the wires so that the handlebar switch is in parallel with the clutch switch. I did a DIY and it is probably buried back in this thread. And FWIIW, after doing the mod I found I preferred having the switch off.... so I removed it. I have it, but probably a lot more convenient just to order it up.
