I finally got around to installing the Helibar risers and the brake line extension on my 2022 today. Wow, what a difference. All the arm and neck pain are gone. I did not have to bleed the entire brake line by following a video on their website. I think this is one of the best mods I’ve made thus far.

I have the exact same setup on my tenere (for about 5 years) and love the extra comfort that it provides. Like you, i removed one brake caliper, pumped the piston out a bit, removed the brake fluid from the master cylinder reservoir, fitted the extension hose and then forced the caliper piston back until brake fluid re-appeared in the master cylinder reservoir, I then topped of the reservoir and refitted the brake caliper and was all done, no bleeding required..

Hey Pete
Could you share the manufacturer item number for the extension?
Thank you
I got the risers from helibars.com and the 2.5 inch brake line extension came as a kit with the them. I emailed Helibars and they replied that they do not sell the 2.5 extension separately. However, they sell a 5 1/8 inch (13 cm) extension (item 150-0140) individually for $39.00. It’s a little long but it should work. I’m new here so I’m not sure if we are allowed to post links. If you Google “Helibars hydraulic line extension“ it’ll come up.

Rox Risers?
Yes ROX risers. I got a good deal on them a few years ago. They laid around in my shop forever. I decided to try them with out the brake line extensions. Just enough line the way I have my bars. I really need to extend them sometime. doesn't seem to be hurting anything though.

I wonder, those bars are wide enough, you could take an inch off each end and make more room.
I took an inch out of each side of my bars with in two weeks after I got the bike. they were just too wide for my reach. that definitely made the brake and clutch lines more usable for the bar risers.

There you go. How hard was it to remove the grips and other parts? And did you use the Roxrisers or Helibars?

I just filed the locating dowel off the switch controls and slid everything in one inch on both sides. I didn't cut the bars. If I need leverage they still are out there that long. I just don't use that part of the bar.

I use Rox risers as well. The cables were a little tight at full lock so I rerouted both brake and clutch hoses to behind the for tubes and problem solved. Definitely more comfortable.
