Picked up an easternbeaver pc-8 over the winter to install and rework my electrical add ons.
Soldering iron I have now I remember it was a PIA to use last time few years ago, kept getting cold and had to wait to warm backup again and I don't really wanna go through that struggle a second time.

Sooo, what say the masses, what do you use, and where do you get it?

IMOP....... This is all you need.... I have two old ones like this "style".. Have had them for 15-20 years... They have made about 500 custom projects and have soldered about 1000 bike projects...
As I think about it, I think I bought mine at Radio-Shack a million years ago. If you dont like this one, look for one that is only the wand with a plug out the end. Try not to get one with switches or on-off, or even different heat switches... Just plug in and go... SIMPLE STYLE... it will probably last you 20-30 years...

+1 on the simple wand style. No switches, plug-in only. Much easier to use and more reliable that the trigger/gun variations.

Be sure to get some soldering paste as well. Day and night difference.
