We have had two incidents reported in the last week of members being SCAMMED after posting a phone number in OPEN postings. If you need to transmit any personal information, use the Private Message function available by tapping on the members name and then tap "Start conversation" when their ID block appears.

I am thinking “Safe Internet” should be taught with “Safe Sex” since both can end up with you getting F——-d if you are not careful.

NEVER put sensitive information on an open post in any forum. At anytime there can be over 200 search engine bots hitting the forum and some of them are looking for sensitive info like phone numbers.

While we take Forum security very seriously, we can not stop them looking, but you can avoid being victimized by them

Wasn't in the song. It came out in '81. I don't think you needed to dial area codes at that time. I think a lot depended on where you lived.
My post was an attempt at humor. We have been using area codes for long distance calls for many years. Today we need the area code to call our neighbors. If a forum member needed to call "Jenny" he would need her area code. Another attempt at humor!

You can also do something like posting your number as 5five5-0ne23four. The bots are too stupid to figure stuff like that out.

I can definitely vouch for Jenny!
