Yea I remember that video back when all our PDP bikes first arrived. But I was immediately aware that the American version, which I received, was much bigger and less nimble.
I was disappointed, but I got over it. :)

Seems to me he's a Dutch professional rider. There are something like 3 Tenere videos and some jpg's that he is in.

Hard to believe we were watching that 6 years ago. I remember watching it a few times back then. That was one of few things we had back then to help build anticipation for the bike to finally make it here. Good memories.

Yea, but, we didn't end up with that bike, did we?
They obviously shipped us the big-American version.

So....it's not my imagination? That bike is smaller? I could tell that the screen was shorter, and the seat looked like it was off of a MXer, but it also looked like the whole bike was more compact. Either way....the boy can ride.

LOL - No - It's the same bike you have, in the 2010 version. Now you got me to look up who the rider is and remembering he is a Dakar racer it wasn't hard.

Francesco Catanese al Pharaons, who lives in Italy. Do a Google on his name and he's a really active guy.

Here're a couple more of his videos and you can better see the bike with the seat and other mods. You can also see how big he is.

This was his 2011 race bike.

Yeah....I guess you're right. He is not a small person, but I think what makes the bike look "smaller" is that there are no crash bars and the flat seat. It looks like just a big dirt bike; not a monster dirt bike.

Francesco Catanese - used to race second gen. Africa Twin RD04 , when S10 came out he did couple racing gigs with it and now he's on KTM ... what a mistake , lol ::025::

Well, great. Now I'm depressed. Just stumbled upon these vids. ugh.
Some of you here may know me from the work on the original Patman Racing KLR 705. And some may remember me from the Open (unlimited) expert class in district 37 and Texas Cross Country. (a hundred years ago) ...all that's just to say, I used to think I could ride a big powerful motorcycle fast over rough terrain...the key word here is "think"...I'm finding that on this 600 pound monster I feel like a total squid. I cant find a rhythm at all and feel like a total newbie! The only thing that could dash my ego more deeply and and make me feel more embarrassed to even throw a leg over the Super Tenere is...well...videos like this! Thank you sooooo much for putting them up!! :(

LOL - Just go meet Fred. The gent''s in his 70s, still motocrossing, and a true role model.

I miss Fred.
I was within a couple of hundred miles of him a week ago. Brought back good memories of him taking me under his wing at the Springfield Mile.

He, his son, and friend stopped by for lunch when they were in DC last month and we had a nice visit.
