I think it's time to hang it up.

I was going to post this in the For sale section but with around 285,000 miles of use I don't think anyone would be crazy enough to buy it.
I could use words like " never hit the ground" or "only in good weather" or you get the idea, but it would all be a joke.
Everything gets old and wore out and trashy, even me.
It's just getting too rough and unreliable.
I have camped in my tent many nights with it very close by.
Hardly letting it out of my sight.
It has been reliable and performed flawless even all the way to Alaska and back, Twice!
2 up to Hyder 204 (2).jpg

When it first came out it was in a class of its own.
I've never been a high-class guy but I just don't like being seen with it anymore.
I don't know what will replace it but I know the latest version isn't as rugged and durable.
When these first came on the scene just their name required respect! "Kilimanjaro"

Steve

If it's still in decent operating condition maybe just keep it for a buddy bike. If selling you'll probably come out better parting it out. Wheels, gas tank, headlight, display and seat alone would probably equal or exceed sale price.

I can't bring myself to sell my FJ. I haven't ridden it in months. And I don't have anywhere near the miles/memories with her that you do with your ride. I would park her in a corner, out of the way, dust her off every-so-often. A am surprised that you don't have as much faith in your '17 though.

It’s served you well. Definitely got your money’s worth with old blue.

LOL, Kilimanjaro. Don't forget the moth crystals in the pockets when you hang it up. Have it properly dry cleaned and frame it like some sports jersey. Better yet, leave it dirty in the frame. Hey, make it a door prize/auction item in Whitehorse on your third trip.
Doesn't 'stitch promise to keep 'em in usable repair no matter how long?

Talk about the end of an era. Somehow I never anticipated seeing this thread.

Don looks like you are the only one with his eyes fully open.

My bike only has 281,000 miles I sure wasn't talking about it, It's still like new.

Ha! "Hang it up", I get it now. But, in my defense, I've never heard anybody talk about clothing age in "miles". I still have an M-65 jacket from my navy days, that my kid(s) still occasionally wear. No telling how many "nautical miles" it has on it. Not going to throw it away regardless.

I love my Kilimanjaro and hope I never have to part with it. It only has about 40k on it now so I’ve got a long way to go.
