Hi everyone ...

I have a 2012 ST and it need some service be done soon. I just moved to SoCal not long time ago and I do not know any good service and tech in this area. Oceanside is the closest town to me. Can you guys recommend a good place to service my bike?? I am willing to drive a longer distance to a good tech.
Thanks..

Akos.

Might be better if you posted this in the "USA-Western Region" section...

What kind of service are you needing? Our answer may vary based on whether it is a tire change, or a valve clearance inspection that you're needing.

ok. good point. I will need oil change, air filter, final gear fluid change, throttle body sync., check all spocks on wheel, my idle is rough, my shifting is rough and kick, update on comp. if needs any, throttle body balance, I have some knocking noise to show to the tech., everything for 6000 miles service. Want to see a good tech with a lot of experience with Yamaha st. I think that is all.

I'm not sure that there is a tech in this area with a lot of Super Tenere experience. Anyone?

I've had good luck with North County Yamaha, off of 78 & Nordahl, but they haven't worked on my Super Tenere, so I can't comment on their abilities there.

Everything you've asked for above is pretty simple, and I'd think most any shop could handle it.

Akos, I haven't seen your post before. If you haven't got your bike serviced yet:
1) shifting is rough and kick: Grease the lever axis. Cost 5 min and some grease. See http://www.yamahasupertenere.com/index.php?topic=15230.0
2) Knocking noise: very likely coming from the clutch basket model 2012-13. You can replace it with the new clutch basket which is heavier and has a different damping system. Hence a smoother ride and less noise. It could be the CCT which could be replaced also by a newer model. But don't worry the beast is really indestructible...

Regarding a shop, I just left a report (positive) on Oceanside Cycle Supply. They have a knowledge of the Ténéré somewhat limited, but which improved tremendously after they did my valves :D
