I certainly don't think extra lights are necessary.

That guy can be funny.

I have no photos of extra lights to share here. I think the only time in the last 7 or 8 years I've ridden in the dark was to go to dinner from Romney, then back to the dealership with a full belly. Kinda hard for me to justify, although Dirt_Mom would love me to put some on her bike. I've managed to resist because I'm sure all she would ever do is light up my mirror in the daytime.

I've seen his videos before and he is very entertaining. ::008::

Saying wrong things undermines his stuff though. A brand new Goldwing does not have extra (bolted on) lights. It has 6 fantastic lights when you ride it home from the dealer. The Tenere has terrible lights. I can either bolt on lights or buy a Goldwing to end up at the same amount of light.

Despite him riding all around the place, a thousand kilometres in a day doesn't cut it as 'long distance'. Lots of short days that add up to a great big journey may mean that you hardly ride in the dark so don't need extra light(s). I'd like to see him ride a few 24 hour days with 12 hour nights on stock lights and see if his views change.

I do so many things I can't "justify".

I miss getting in trouble. :(

I'm going to send Dirt_Mom some super BRIGHT lights, you dirty rat.

I have no doubt you are sincere about missing getting in trouble. I do seem to do it enough for both of us.

Please do NOT send super BRIGHT lights. She would make me put them on her bike. I'd argue against it...then I'd get in trouble. ;)
