I'm calling around right now in my local area and so far full MSRP but one dealer did offer accessory discounts. He even wanted a $1,000 deposit until I told him everyone else was only paying 500.00 then he said that would be ok. He is also the first one to talk trade in of my bike in case I can't sell it in time other folks want to do a consignment at 20% off the top. I can wait until March 31st to order the S10 that's no problem. I don't mind if the bike comes late because I ride year round anyway.

So far Tony O in Texas is the best deal $1,400 off MSRP plus the options I want would be another $500 in savings through Tony but wow 1,161 miles from my house one way plus getting out there and food and hotel stays along the way. I may end up spending what I would be saving. My thought is to approach a local guy and see if they could come close to that deal.

Seeing all of the discounts on bikes posted on here makes me resent my dealer. He assured me that it was against Yamaha policy for dealers to discount bikes during the PDP so I signed a purchase agreement for MSRP. Some of you guys are getting the bike for $1500 off. You can bet that I will not be giving him any accessory business.

Shipping a bike costs $300 - $600, so that is an option, too. It can take a while, but you don't have to drive (time and gas), stay (time and hotel), eat out, etc.

There were better deals a State or more away, but I decided from the start I would buy somewhere in-State. I ended up buying right here in town. It took stopping in several different times, over a 10 day period, to strike the deal, but with other in-State dealerships offering it for less, my dealer slowly went lower. Making some money is better than making no money. The last bit of my deal was my asking for them to throw in some oil or something since I'd just be in there buying it anyway. He ended up offering me 2 cases of oil (24quarts/6gallons). That retails for around $130 and I would be buying it anyway so to me, it was like getting another $130 off the bike, but for him, it was only giving up his wholesale price so it worked out for both of us.

Really, I thought the price was a good value at MSRP and I would have ordered even if no dealers were going lower.

Just an fyi for anybody looking around the Tulsa area for a deal . . . K&N Yamaha is selling them for $12,650 otd. I know it's a little more than the Texas deal, but if you're closer up this way it might be worth a couple hundred $$.
