I just ordered a pair of the pants....for $30 and Prime shipping, how could I not? I figure they'll be good to wear over a pair of shorts in the heat of the summer for local trips like going to an outdoor concert or festival when I want the protection of long pants for the ride and then strip them off when I get there. The 'stich is kind of overkill for the aforementioned use case.

Just make sure you don't crash while you are wearing them, the sleeves may just rip right off !

I bought a relatively cheap jacket a few years ago. I had a minor accident on the bike, I got low sided off the bike and the right sleeve completely tore off. I learned my lesson. But maybe they make better cheap stuff these days ?? Good Luck.

I am interested to hear from anyone with experience with this gear my son's keep growing and it's hard to keep spending $300-400 (if I'm lucky) every year on gear that fits. Anybody crashed in this stuff is the material worth while. I'm all for a deal but not if the first time it hits the ground you might as well been wearing a t shirt.

Sorry, can't speak to crash survival in these things. I left my Hawk pants down at my camp in KY, the use case being dual sport with @ 80% off road and short trips into town when I don't feel like suiting up in the R3. I will follow up if I do have the unfortunate experience of crash testing them.
