I've been using this for about a year now.

It packs up small and makes a decent cup of coffee but I'm looking for something that makes a great cup instead of a decent. I've been looking at the stanley adventure and the aeropress. I need something backpacking friendly also. What are y'all using?

Just picked up a MSR Windburner stove and filter. Going to ty it out next weekend.
The lid for the filter doesn't stay on, so I'll have to use a rubber band. Or, carry coffee in another container.

Had a Stanley, gifted it after a couple of uses,,,too messy for my taste. Decent brew, but the dregs got through on mine. Following and still looking,,,,,,,,,

I'd also like some homemade crepes with fresh berries and whipped cream, but since I'm camping I just use the instant Via packets and make a cup of instant oatmeal. I like coffee as much as anyone else, but I hate dealing with a lot of crap like that while I'm on the road.

I made some coffee this morning with the stanley and it worked well. No grinds in the coffee and clean up was easy. Got it packed for the camping trip tomorrow.

The Nescafe crystals have always been my go-to when we went camping. Once again, it's the ol' investment (effort) v. reward (taste). Instant coffee or cocoa, sugar packets, and powdered creamer. . . . "good enough" for sitting around a camp fire, or breakfast. At home is my Keurig. I became a fan because every cup tastes the same; no bitterness.

Yup, "perfect" is a personal opinion thing. Don't get me wrong. . . . crappy coffee is crappy coffee. But, most of the time, OK coffee is good enough coffee.

When it comes to moto camping I've gone through my phases/marketing. First was full cases, big tent, dry food, extra tools, lots of water and everything that falls under the umbrella of just in case. Then I went to soft bags and some items that were just in the case, less water, canned foods and you need extra clothing. Well to end it I've gotten it down to 34L bag and one 10l tank bag. So it's a 30 degree bag, sleep mat, 2 man tent, and a few basic tools with ways to air up tires. So food, well a pack of hot dogs, small pot for soup , food from your favorite market or restaurant. For water it's a 1l thermos, cans of drinks and random snacks. Too be honest its personal preference or how much marketing ideas you buy into.

After using it last weekend, I will agree with ornery. It's too hard to clean when you don't have plenty of water. Our first 2 nights camping we were on a stream so it wasn't an issue. The 3dd night we weren't. I ended up using all my water trying to wash it out. It makes a good cup of coffee but I will use it for car camping.

Yanks just don't get coffee. That swill you drink in large cups is not proper coffee. The handpresso or similar espresso machine will make a great shot. Bring on the hate but you have to leave the USA to get good coffee. I bet someone tells me Starbucks is good. Haha. They went broke in Australia.
