Hi I have been running on S10 2019 non es for 6000 miles now, still on stock tire (Bridgestone battlewing) two problem that so annoying to me are;

1. Low speed wobble when I took the hand off handle bar during slow speed ride if the road is not perfect asphalt. The handle bar will start shanking, not dangerous, but annoying. I just did spoke wheel check is fine. Steering head bearing still good. I suspect it is because of the rear preload, the problem is more significant when I loaded the side pannier, may be i set the rear preload to soft?

2. Buzzing Vibration, during the first few months owning this bike it was not significant, but my last ride for long distance cruising speed around 80-90mph I can feel the vibration on my feet and buzzing to handle bar until I cannot see the side mirror clearly, so what is wrong? I need to do an engine oil change?
Apart from these two problem everything is great on S10

Thank you very much for your experience sharing.

As it’s a 2019 bike, I’m assuming the mileage is quite low, so will discount the likelihood of head or wheel bearings being the problem here.

If it were me, I’d ride without the panniers and top box first, to see if that improves matters. If it does, then the issue is likely to be suspension related, probably too little rear preload. Try with the rear preload wound between medium and hard.

Not that? Check the simple stuff first, tyres in good shape. Has the issue appeared as the tyres have worn? Tyre pressures, 41R 35F is a reasonable place to start. Are the wheels balanced correctly?

You could check that the front tyre is seated correctly in the rim, this may involve releasing all of the air, brushing a soap solution around the tyre bead and inflating to 60-70 psi to make it pop into place. Failing that, it could also be that the front tyre is out of balance, maybe you have lost a balance weight or it was not balanced correctly right from the start.

The buzzing vibration through the footrests and handlebars doesn’t sound right to me, I was riding my S10 yesterday and I was thinking just how smooth and vibration free it was compared to in-line 4 cylinder bikes that I have owned in the past. As your bike is a 2019 model, I am guessing it is in warranty? If so, then ai would get it checked by the dealership.

You're also getting enough miles that cupping could be becoming an issue on the front tire.. I'd make big suspension changes; set it to max. Doing so will not hurt anything, and more likely to show a difference.

worn front tires totally get wibbly wobbly when decelerating through 20 or so with my bike. I just put up with it til it's time to change tires. this is with shinko 705's. So any kind of 70/30 rally block tire will tend to do it in my experience. they scallop if you use the front brake like you're supposed to. I don't know about you but i like to pretend my tenere is a supersport in the canyons.

Going to something like a pilot trail 5... basically a sport touring tire, should reduce these tendencies.... at the cost of off road competence.
