As of right now, I have 346 miles on it, and am averaging 46.5 MPG, although the dash says 46.8. Not bad for the riding I've done so far. I plan to go out agin, so another 25-30 tonight.

It sure is a great bike, and not just because I waited so long or paid what I paid: it really is a great bike. Has the potential to replace all of the other ones. Hmmmm, maybe the WRR needs a new home as well. Truly as all around as they claim.

I took some extremely rough "no winter maintenance" roads today. I'd call them "no maintenance at all" roads. In a car, you would need to keep it to about 10-15 MPH due to the ruts and holes, but the ST was very nice at about 45-55, which is about what I can do on the WRR as well. Not bad, for a beast. More mountain curves and such as well: my chicken strips are pretty narrow now. Very impressive.

Wind buffeting, even with the windshield in the lower position, ifs still fairly stiff out on the highway with traffic. I think I'll need the alternate one.

T mode makes it smoother if you're fooling around in low throttle openings. Noticeably so.

I am sad, had my bike since the 27th and only have 120 miles on it. To my defense I had to work Thursday and Friday and Saturday I just went too lunch on it. Today I have been working on a friends wee strom all day so no riding at all. I'll catch up in the next few weeks plus this is Mississippi my riding season is year round.

That was what it was about, and saving fuel if you have to and keeping the pillion more comfortable and trying to prevent the helmet slap, from too much throttle "speed"

This will all be missed if you are just a solo rider on smooth tarmac though. You won;t see the point.

Cheers
Graham

1115 miles, all is well. Touring mode for me 99% of the time. 550 miles on my weekender to Arkansas, 50+ mpg on the computer, but I think it is slightly optimistic.

Pluses:
+ Love the engine... fat, broad torque band will make this a easy to ride, fun bike
+ Nice ergos... although the level the seat mod is first up
+ Nice headlights - not as good as my ZX-9R but better than many. Very European cut-off
+ Like the location and general quality of the tool kit
+ Windscreen provides adequate protection
+ Did I mention the engine... great engine
+ Transmission is smooth and easy to shift, easy to find neutral
+ This is a great bike...

Minuses:
- Don't really dig the seat fabric. The texture was coming through after an hour in the saddle.
- Windscreen adjustment requires tools (yes, yes the Touratech part is on the way)
- Steering seems a little slow.
- Carries the weight better than GSA... easier to move around the garage
- Don't like the turn signals... seem too big and bulky
- Wish there was an emergency flasher - I used to use that rather than flashing the brakes
- My leg hits the exhaust shield when standing up. If I center my arch rather than the ball of my foot over the pegs, it might be better
- Need risers to help position when standing up

I'm very happy with the bike and my purchase. Hope everyone else is too!

I have 344 miles so far and the first tank of gas I got 43 mpg. Thats not bad at all my KLR650 got 48 mpg most of the time but if I went for a ride up in the hills it would go up to 55 mpg or more.

This is dialed up this way for a reason, It is better on shit dust/dry sand covered roads where you may encounter some hidden "tracks" or something that would snd a more "nervous" bike inti a tank slapper. If you have enough leg length you can get a Wasp raising link, this will give you about the equiv of a GSA ground clearance AND faster steering if you wish.

The more experienced off road folk may appreciate the faster response and more clearance. The mainly road riders may just like the quicker response.

P.S. Like the pic in the sig. 8)

It has more dirt geometry than street. However, I have been working on the chicken strips, and at my current rate of advance, I would say the handling is quick enough.

As I remarked after my test ride on 1 July: it feels like a giant DT1. I'm up to about 364 miles now. Found a real fun mountain road to work on the chicken strips. I may have to get my first Oil change this coming weekend.

Only 200 miles so far and 44.3 avg mpg. Running it with 2 up and S mode most of the time. Could not help twisting the right hand from 0-4k between shifts most of the time. ;D

This is a great bike and I have had a boat load in my life. Any mag that says it's not will never get my money again.

The wife said I like it and she is good now to go ahead and sell the FJR which we used for road trips. Thats a big thumbs up as far as I am concerned because the FJR was going to set in the shop now after riding the Big XT. ;D ;D ;D

picked mine up Thursday & put a whopping 28km on before our Yukon Yamaha photo shoot. Then had to l leave town Friday (without bike :'(
Worked Saturday, but still had time to install SW pannier racks & Pelican cases, Altrider rear rack, Altrider engine bars, Altrider skidpan, Exaust shield,M/c guard & U-joint guard. along with MRA windshield, then rode for another 100km before supper.
Sunday!!! rode 450km or so. Had to ride around the block when I got home to get to 600km total. :))
Oh yes the ride report! To early to tell on fuel mileage, and to be trruthful , I don't really care  It will easily get 400km on a tank and that's more than my bladder
I rode Alaska Hywy pavement, twisty side road sealcoat, several side road gravel sections and about 100km or so of the South Canol road (truely an adventure ride) gravel, mud, hardpack, dust, rain & twistys :exclaim:lots of them.
This bike is ROCK SOLID, very stable at speed and has great walking speed. On the slab it will run at whatever speed you feel you can get away with >:D
Need to put some more km's on this coming week as I'm falling behind the other 4 owners who had the sense to stay in town as the bikes were being delivered, unlike me, who was 3 days late in getting it.
So far I'm pretty sure I love it :))

Picked my blue baby up late Saturaday afternoon. Drove it around on roads in unbuilt subdivisions (recession is bad here in Reno!) and played with it in parking lots. Love the balance of the bike and able to do some really tight figure 8s at low speed. Very nimble. Took it home due to thundershowers.

Went on a ride this morning with my two boys and one of their friends around Lake Tahoe; we had the ST, Suzuki 600, Ducati Monster, and a new Triumph. Traffic was horrible and had to do a lot of quick stops and quick turns to make any headway. Love its sound.

This bike is more that I had hoped. Have 235 miles on it and an appointment for the 600 mile checkup on Saturday morning. Planning on putting on the crash bars from Altrider tomorrow night and the skid plate after the 600 miler. I LOVE THIS BIKE!!!!!!!! BTW, the kids I mentioned above think it is the coolest bike they have ever seen. Someday I'll let them try it!!!

WAY TO GO YAMAHA!!!!!!!!!

Quick tip for you guys..

the toolkit fits under the seat !!! saves removing the side panel if you need to get in there..
Thanks! What is the unused connector there intended for? Mine has a multipin connector with the pins capped.

I believe it is the ABS test coupler ..

Under my seat I have the stock toolkit with pliers removed, Leatherman tool with sockets, 2 rolls of tape (1 electrical, 1 race tape), puncture repair kit and some cable ties.. there is a bit of space there if you're creative..

My underseat is crammed full of autocom and cables, use it for communication with wife when she is on her monster. People are just starting to get riding and breaking in the Super Ts, pictures are starting to grow from the short trips out and about. Pretty cool to watch all of this evolve from a slow small forum while waiting on the shipments to arrive.

I am at 1115 miles, will research and do the lower the rear of the seat mod. Also would like to try the raise the rear for slightly quicker steering rake ( I already pulled the forks up 1/2") but with seat in high setting, I barely can flat foot if at all. I am very happy with the tank mileage, probably 275 miles as I am getting 50 mpg. That is staying 70 indicated or below, which is about 65 mph actual.

This bike is a keeper!
