My board name is the email name I have been using for almost 25 years. It is supposed to be a derivative meaning of my surname.....not so sure that it is accurate though *L*

V for Vermont. Rode as having ridden lots of roads. Also, I planned on owning a V-Strom so the V made sense. A demo ride changed my mind, but not my handle.

I was a golf pro in the Chicago area. Being from Montana, having a mustash and tall and skinny like the character in the Rick O'Shea cartoon got me the handle "Hipshot".

My first name, and the tool I used to turn race gas into noise, when I first started out on Internet forums.View attachment 72282
(S10) Tenman was the first name I tried. This was the first forum I ever joined. I have a tweeked 84 Rz350. It trashed and crashed. I just can't make myself take it to the junk yard. The most fun street bike I ever rode. The few guys (all 4 strokers) I let ride it came back and saId WOW.

Contrary to popular belief, the AV in my name stands for Audio Video and not Aviation. Although I went to high school not far from Miramar (Top Gun air base) around the same time the movie came out, and did want to fly fighter jets...

Anyway, I've been an AVGeek since transferring into TV Tech in high school way back in 1986, and went pro in 1993...

During the Winter of '80 I first saw the original Mad Max movie when it debuted in the US and I was transfixed!
My forum name is MFP which is the acronym for "Main Force Patrol" the fictional Australian federal police force in the movie.
My forum pic is that of the actor Steve Bisley who portrayed Jim Goose the lone motorcycle officer in the movie.
Although Mel Gibson as Max Rockatansky was the featured actor Jim Goose was the real bad ass with his Kwaka KZ1000!

American actor, but can't remember his name. Obviously, not who I thought it was.
I use this name & pic on a few other motorcycle specific forums and the pic is frequently misidentified as Steve McQueen.

BTW, Steve McQueen and Evel Knievel were the only two posters I had in my room when I was a young one.
*I did add a Cheryl Tiegs poster later when I was a teenager.
