Go to the auto parts store with the old one and see if they can find a close match.

Just get a set of Samco hoses and be done with it. I've used then for years and have never had one fail.

Silicone hoses pretty much eliminated hose failures in the trucking business. He punctured his with a rock-not sure how much better on punctures but definitely stronger. I might split an old piece of hose and zip tie it over mine to have a little protection. If I needed a replacement I would try to get a silicone hose.

Thanks. Just received this info from SAMCO in UK.
$15 for OEM with wait up to June 20 (no riding :() or
$150 for a full set - most of it which I may not need - but replace in any case since i'd need to buy the whole set.

Do you have the blue installed? Any pics?

Sorry I don't on my Super Tenere. I do have the blue ones on my Beta though. I sold my KTM 300 last year so I could get the Super Tenere. This picture I'm showing you has the Samco hose clamps as well. Very high quality clamps. Worth ordering the clamp kit with the hoses.

I would just go to a local car parts supplier and get a foot of hose and cut it to fit. I know around here you can find short elbows and similar pieces for cheap. Local parts store will sell rad hose by the foot.
Or get a metal elbow and two short straight sections of rubber hose to get you by till you can get the proper one from Yamaha or Samco

Possibly overkill for a 6500mile '17 ES, but the more I read about Samco, the more I'm leaning towards pulling the plug on a set. If I do I'd probably go for the Blue - aesthetically striking on the Cobalt Blue color of the bike

The hunt for a hose pipe was on in desperation yesterday.

Fellow rider found a hose supplier near me - worth a shot. Off I went. It was an industrial hose supplier. Hoses were bomb proof. Two of the guys there really took time to find a compatible hose and clearly disappointed when they couldn’t.

The McGuyvered original Hose

Started off with this hose as back up - in case I couldn’t find anything else. Since this was not preformed, one of them inserted a metal spring to avoid any kinking when the hose is bent. As I said Industrial.

Then two unsuccessful runs to ATV and motorcycle power sports shops.

And then with google maps as my friend plotted out all auto parts stores along the way home. On the 3rd attempt, I ended up at Advance Auto Parts 10mins from my house !

The tech was patient and helpful and found a right hose with a good enough bend. Hose just needed snipping at each end.

The install was fairly easy. Done in 10 mins and not much Coolant loss.

Still have my eye on the Blue Samco Sports ‘cool’ Hose Kit !
