Is DM going to be on the Spyder? If so the baggage will be a non-issue.
You've never traveled with DM. I have. This is how I was packed when the Spyder was with us on the Nova Scotia trip.

I'm sure I'll figure it out. The GW is a great bike and I'm looking forward to doing some true long distance touring on it.

It's a line I needed to cross in order to have my wife travel with me. It works very well. A Thule rooftop carrier with a steel tube frame and a hole in the bottom for rubber-sprung swingarm and single wheel.
If you're traveling with your wife on the bike, it makes total sense.

For me, my wife on a Spyder with a trunk up front and full set of cases in the back, to then need a trailer would be the definition of overkill. Maybe if we were campers, but even then, it still screams, too much stuff.

If DM ever starts touring on the back with me, I'll check to see if you'd be open to selling it.

I have lots of Goldwing friends who pull trailers and they love them, some never ride without a trailer.
i have never pulled a trailer with a motorcycle and most likely never will , way to dangerous , have killed 5 deer with motorcycles and believe me the results would have been a lot worse pulling a trailer.

I’ve pulled two kinds of trailers with the Tenere and done fine. Only problem was the time I stupidly took a muddy and was going too fast. No injuries or damage but that one was on me.

I remember that thing was surprisingly roomy on the inside. Is that still in your garage over by your KTM, under the tarp and boxes? :)

GW is resting comfortably at the dealer's tonight, waiting for the 9:00am appointment to get the tape off the mirror.

Borrowed a very nicely setup KLR 650 to get me home. Best setup KLR I've ever seen, and there were two identical ones there. It was a somewhat curious story behind them. Anyway, the ride home was interesting. Had to (try) to pass a tractor trailer when the road finally opened up from a 2 lane to a 4 lane. Even going down a mountain, I had to pull back in behind the truck to let the line of cars behind get by. 72 MPH is really pushing that bike. After all, it is a KLR.

I'd take a picture of this fine example of a KLR...but my phone melted down and died on the way to work this morning. It's toast, which is an odd feeling in 2025 not to have a working phone. Amazing how dependent we all become on technology. Didn't expect that. I'm not able to have a phone with me from 6am to 4:30pm. I'd tell you I don't give a fig about a phone. But remove it completely, and it a bit more strange than I would have guessed.
