Doctori, I really like your suggestion of the doing the old pattern in red on the black bike. I did not notice that it is equipped with a red shock spring. Does anyone have a black bike and wants to do a mock up with photo's???

Yep, red shock spring on the raven bike and yellow on the blue bike (at least on the pics I've seen). I got some 1/4" reflective white pin stripe tape off ebay and some red reflective tape too. I will try to copy the tapered look over the black paint with the white tape and maybe add a small piece of the red reflective tape inside each rectangular segment created by the white pattern over black. I've got a pic of that helmet pattern but haven't read yet how to post pics here yet.

Oh BTW, methinks black is the "Holy Grail" of color for the Super Tenere ;D.

.... I saw a pic of a white helmet with a black line with red inserts in the old Yamaha pattern. It looked really good. I may get some white 1/4" pin stripes and some red tape too and make up a pattern on the black bike. I don't have photoshop but would love to see options. With that red trim on the bike and the red shock spring, I think it would look better than yellow ....
I got one of those ... I think you're talkin' about the Arai Edwards Valencia ... it's brilliant. I run one with an iridium blue visor 8)

Black one on order (Black Betty..Bam-Dee-Lam!). Want to add the Yamaha "yellow stripe" to her! Probably going to add black Trax or Jesse's. Stick with the black theme, anyway. Worked well with my 1150GSA...except that one kept breaking..... :(

Yeah, Swagger, here is a link to that helmet for others to look at. I am thinking with the raven paint to add some 1/4" whiite outline filled with with red much like the Arai Edwards Valencia pattern. I guess I'll make some outlines and do it meself or maybe get a pinstripper locally to help make it look more professional.

This thing looks so good in black! Maybe harder to keep clean but I am fine with that.

I like the black but don't like the red accents. I've personally never liked the combination of black with red decals on vehicles or whatever. I'd either remove the red Super Ténéré sticker all together or replace it with the yellowish gold one of the blue bikes. Harder would be the spring. It's not very visible, especially once panniers go on, so maybe it wouldn't be a big deal, but for non-pannier running, a swap for the yellow spring would look nice, especially for those talking about adding Yamaha Yellow stripes, etc.

Cheaper solution would be to wrap a shock tube round the thing. Can't then see it and it's protected from the elements ... ;) Happy days!
