So here is the question. I know from reading the previous posts about Holan's, that folks like them but shipping and stock was less than reliable, and the distributor dropped them. Though I can't remember who that was, subsequently over on ADVrider it looks like another company has picked them up. Any idea as to whether it would be worth the headache trying?

I have the 45 litre Holans and they are great. Pretty narrow, loads of space, completely rainproof so far and a good price. If I had to make the choice again today it would still be Holan all the way for me.

The only slight negative is the frames were tricky to fit and needed a bit of persuasion, but nothing too significant.

I an in the UK and ordered them direct from Poland with little fuss. If the USA supply issues have been resolved that is great news for you guys.

Matt

I say go for it! I have looked at a lot of different set ups and I still believe that the Holan's are the best value by far. I have been nothing but pleased with my set. They are completely waterproof, and have stood up to some pretty good get offs. The way the top of the boxes are constructed leads to a very sturdy over all box.

I am glad to hear of a new importer, it is nice to know parts will be available.

I have a set of 38 liter and they are a little narrower then my handle bars.

And if you get in on the group deal they are cheaper then when I got mine!

I really like them, but I just got news from the new distributor that they don't make a top case rack anymore. Unfortunately that just blows. Not sure what I want to do now.

Hi,

I have a Givi metal plate and Trekker top box with mine. Works really well, as I can use the Trekker or just strap on a roll bag with the camping gear.

Just fitted Holan's to mine they are really well made and fit the bike a treat.
Got a Touratech top box, bought this before I found out about Holan's Nomadas but they complement each other very well.
Apparently the original Touratech boxes were made by Holan's
Highly recommended.

I ordered them previously and it was a huge headache and lots of miscommunication with the information Holan was giving the U.S. distributor. I don't blame the distributor at all, their hands were tied. Hopefully, Holan does a better job moving forward. I waited several weeks for updates and finally cancelled the order and went with Jesse bags. I felt better w/Jesse because 1) When I called about availability, HE answered the phone, told me sure I have some right here 2) I got them 1 week to the day that I called asking about them and 3) they are much better quality than the Holan bags. Yes, they are more $$ but that part is for you to decide if they are worth it. I feel they are and they are made in America so supporting an American company and getting the best quality available just 'feels' good.

I agree that the build quality of Jesse is probably better than Holan, but I also believe that Holan are plenty good. The main problem I have with Jesse bags is that I just don't like how they look, both the panniers and racks. Add to that the fact I could not get a flip helmet into the Jesses I looked at and I can with the Holan, the price difference, better (for me) lid design for lashing extra items on top... Holans all the way. It is not a cost thing, as I am friends with the Euro importer for Jesse I could have had a set for not much more than the Holans but I politely declined. I guess that living in Europe and therefore having easier direct shipping options with Poland and no import duty also help to tip the balance for me toward Holan as it has for you toward Jesse.

I guess it is just like the motorcycles we ride... if we were all had the same tastes then everything would get boring. ::008::

There is a certain look (and functionality) to the TT and the holan bags. Jesse is very much different. Although I did like the exhaust cutout.

In the end it was holan for the look, unobtrusive lashing to the lid and the cutout and the SS mounting.

And then of course it wasn't as moto-insight dropped holan due to completely understandable issues. so TT was the next obvious choice.

Price sucked but it had everything i wanted. Completely happy with them and the sting of the price is long gone :'(

When i bought mine from Holans, I dealt with them direct via email paid by paypal and the order took 5days to be delivered from Poland to UK.
Not bad time as it usually take 3-5 day just UK internal post.

I've got my name on the list. I don't mind the wait, if it isn't longer then 3 months. I have just not found any panniers, that have what I was looking for. Theses do! I like how the boxes are tight against frame, like the Jessie's. I like a lid with tie down points. IMHO, I think they look the best. I just can't decide which color for the raven. I have seen pictures of the black on black, But that gray might look good too. I wish I could find a picture of the gray boxes on a black bike.
