I do believe that Happy Trails Panniers are made in Idaho. As well as the Jessies.
Jesses' are hand made in Arizona.

I had a good dialogue with holan in poland until i started to ask about waranty if there is shipping damage. never got another reply. I've given up and will consider Jesse's but probably go with Touratech Pro's because I like the boxy look better for the bike. First trip is in June so will make a decision and order by the end of the month.

Of all the mods, the panniers have caused me the most grief. Wanted the box look but with an exhaust cut out to keep the boxes tight to the bike. That limited it to Holan....and I like them and know them to be bulletproof. But they turned out being much harder to get than I ever could have predicted!

The Jesses' have a exhaust cutout and are boxy unless i don't understand what you mean by boxy.

Lets say rectangal boxy. The jesse's have a lot of geometric shape to them that doesn't do much for me. I know it adds strength and some volume but just not visually what i'm looking for.

I have to admit they were my first choice when I saw them but later liked the holan and touratech look better. Last four bikes were FJRs and a connie so haven't had to worry about bags for for a long time. Before that used soft luggage.

Hey who knows if the interaction with touratech rubs me the wrong way may end up with jesses (or happy trails).

Also like the Diapason bags but the plastic hinge and handle are a turn off.

I am with you. Could have had Jesse at a great price but like my Holans more. I am really sad that more people cannot have them.

Matt

Finally gave up on the Holans and more recently the Diapasons and ordered the Touratech 31/38 set up in silver anodised for my Raven.

Attended the MSF IRETS conference in Kentucky over the weekend and saw many different setups on ADV bikes and liked the Touratech the most.

Still going to kick my @$$ not to get an exhaust side cutout set but I'm OK with the 31/38 width.

In retrospect money was never the issue so I wish I would have heeded the Holan warnings and just bought the Zega Pros when I got the bike. The boxy shape, removeable lid and corner protectors is what I wanted.

Oh well, I really sorted though them all and think I made a good choice for me.

Parting shot - - phuk Holan, wasted two months and delayed one trip.

I like those Zega Pro cases a very close second to my Holans. Great choice!

I am going through exactly the same issues. I would like an exhaust cut out. Like the Jesse's but not the look of the tops. Don't like the Yamaha OEM cases due to the locks. The Jesse's were my first choice but then moved to the TT. Now I don't think I can live with the left case top being farther from the seat than the right case top. Still searching and frustrated in the attempt.

understand it well. i settled.

look up the diapasons in the show us your panniers thread. i could never get them to contact me AND it had plastic hinges. another option is the happy trails. they make a kind of wrap around box that got me thinking but the lids are funky.

and if you dont care about the potential for leaking look at the trax boxes.

finally hepco & becker have a nice set up. too much plastic in both for me but the look is there.

oh yeah there are also some boxes in brazil but i had no luck contacting them?

good luck...1500 for the TTs. gave the locks for free.

Thanks for the correctlion. The handles look like the OEM. Glad to hear they are metal.

I never got any contact back from Moto Shop so gave up and went for the zega pros. Appreciated all your info on the bags, just couldn't wait any more.

Gongrat's! The TT are a slick setup. I love my cases, but after some reflection they weren't worth the hassle I went through to get them.
