Can you tell me what the capacity and total width of the cases installed on the blue bike (photo by Joseph Marino)? Thanks.

Hi Twinrider - thanks for your interest!

If I recall correctly, those are 38L cases on the blue S10 and I'm pretty sure Matt is running 45L cases on his. For perspective, here are the pannier widths by capacity:

* 31L - Approx 8"
* 38L - Approx 9.5"
* 45L - Approx 11"

Essentially, you're adding about 1.5" per side in system width with each step up in capacity.

The overall system width is as follows:

* Pannier rack alone - Approx 18.5"
* With 2 x 31L Nomada Pro panniers - Approx 32"
* With 2 x 38L Nomada Pro panniers - Approx 35"
* With 2 x 45L Nomada Pro panniers - Approx 38"

We have four Super Tenere systems arriving next week (all pre-sold), and will be placing a follow up order to have at least 1-2 systems in inventory at our shop in New York.

Any other questions, please let me know.

Thanks!

Jason

Hi,

I am indeed running the 45s on my bike. I am delighted at how narrow the whole setup is on the bike, especially compared to the Touratech and other similar options.

Regards,

Matt

Any chance you could post a front and rear shot?

Any chance they could clear anodize the plain aluminum ones? I am under the impression that the natural colored version is raw aluminum.

These cases look great! Any chance of a video of mounting/locking mechanisms to the pannier rack?

Hi,

There should be a rear view on Jason's web site, I believe. The mounting system is pretty simple, and I am happy to shoot a quick video at the weekend if that would be useful.

As for the finish, I have had no problems so far with corrosion or any black marking of pannier contents.

I have no connection with Holan or Jason other than being a happy customer and providing some photos.

Regards,

Matt

Thanks for the additional info. So a set of 31s would be about 32" total? What would be the pricing on that setup?

Hi - I'm checking with Holan if they can do silver or clear coating, but don't think they can do anodizing. I'll let you know what I hear.

The cases are natural aluminum but I haven't heard of any issues with transfer or marking from the panniers to the objects inside.

Thanks!

That's correct on system width. For the 31L set with powdercoated black racks and natural/aluminum finish, you can see current pricing here. I would also recommend a 4-pack of locks to secure the case lids for $34.99.

Just as a heads-up - the dollar-to-euro conversion is going the wrong way, so the prices will need to be adjusted soon unless the US dollar suddenly becomes a whole lot stronger. If anyone is interested in a system, I'll hold that price through the end of the calendar year.

Thanks!

Any idea if these will open with a large Givi top box installed?

Hi,

My 45s work fine with my Givi E55 Maxia. It helps not having hinges on the pannier lids, so the clearance you need to remove them is a lot less.

Regards,

Matt

I am glad that someone is making the effort to bring back the Holans. If the Polish company realized what a good thing they had, logistics would be the least concern. I hope it all comes together this time for the new importer. I just apent 500 on a Jesse top box,45 liters, and am glad that the Holan lids will just pop off, access should not be an issue. Just bought it(Jesse top box) and then learn of the Holans coming back. I tried to deal direct with Holan but no response back.

As to the finish, the story I got when I ordered them was that it was not raw aluminim but rather a proprietary blend that didn't need anodized. And that it would not black mark items stored inside the panniers.

The U.S. distibutor dropped Holan due to distribution issues so I never got to try them out but Monty (or others) have experience so could give feedback on the aluminum black marking measures.

Our first delivery just arrived at the shop in New York and they look flippin' amazing! I'll ask the four customers that purchased the Super Tenere system for any pics/feedback on the install, but I think they are going to be very, very happy!

I am going to place an order to keep a few systems in natural/aluminum on hand, and would be interested in your feedback as to the most popular sizes/options. My thought was 38L and 45L, with powdercoated black racks, and perhaps one system with a stainless rack. I will probably keep powdercoated cases as a special order for now, unless there's a big demand for black or gray cases.

This will most likely be the last order with the factory before we revisit prices at the end of the month, so if you're interested in a system, please PM me or contact me via the www.advmotorrad.com site.

Thanks!

Jason, what would be the cost of shipping a set of 31s plus the stainless racks to California? They'd have to go via USPS Priority Mail.
