Just started it. Are both the bikes brand new? 'Cuz, the white one looks personalized, and white isn't a current color option is it?

Finished it yesterday. Also watched "Highlands and Islands" (also on Amazon Prime....free) Good stuff, I enjoyed it.
Just watched the trailer to “highlands and islands” looks good I’ll have to watch the whole thing.

It was impressive as hell that one tire, and an oil filter (because of the SW skid plate) were the only failures. Could a GS have held up as well? Who knows. BUT, there were a lot of places that space was limited. Price isn't the only reason that small bikes were everywhere. All the bells & whistles in the world will not get you through some of the traffic that they dealt with. I would not have wanted to deal with the GS's size. The Tenere was bad enough.

Good little series (4 episodes). Well worth watching.

Landscapes were amazing. Roads looked epic. Bikes were impressive.

Hated the voice overs though... especially Alain's.

Also you guys are forgetting the broken bag mount.... not a fault of the S10 but neither was the tire or oil filter.

I don't know. It's always bugged me that the filter is the first thing that will hit. I will concede that if the skid plate was steel, the filter would not have taken the damage. I think the filter should be FJR style. No way to smack that.

Edit: The bag mount wasn't Yamaha. I'm surprised more weld failures didn't occur.

Or if the plate was 1/4” 7075 aluminum it would likely have been fine too. Most plates for the tenere are rock guards rather than actual skid plates.

I wonder if they were using regular low octane gas most of the trip. I have a buddy that never uses premium in his and has 80,000 miles. But he accelerates slow. Also I wonder if they had the size 14 battery for the trip. Too bad they don't have a website about the trip.
